J.Crew Unleashes First-Ever Collab With LACOSTE

J. Crew’s recent collaboration with LACOSTE is of gargantuan proportions. It took over a year to launch, and just dropped in 30+ J.Crew stores and online.

The special polo shirts are available in a variety of colorways, including traditional white and navy and a more seasonal burgundy.

The meticulous collab was born out of both brands’ mutual admiration for each other’s unique aesthetic sensibilities: J.Crew being the arbiter of cool, dictating the epitome of classic Americana style, and LACOSTE being a French heritage brand whose iconic polo stands for casual elegance.

The design was spearheaded by Jenna Lyons (J. Crew Creative Director and President) and Frank Muytjens (Head of Men’s Design). “I remember saving my babysitting money to buy my first LACOSTE,” says Lyons. “Although the brand started off as this very sporty, tennis-world thing, it went on to have a big influence beyond that…and I’m pretty sure it was name-checked in a Biggie Smalls song.”

The polos are adorned with a retro logo from LACOSTE’s archives and include notched tennis tales and an updated slim fit.

And speaking of tennis, LACOSTE has partnered with the Miami Open to release a co-branded apparel collection. The collection includes sport polos, sport tees, windbreaker jackets and tracksuits, sport shorts, track pants, visors, hats, socks and sweatbands.

The apparel features super lightweight and ultra-dry performance fabrics ideal for the active guy. It features bold red, blue, and purple colors and signature piping and color-locking details.

The J.Crew X LACOSTE polos retail for $98 and are available at select J.Crew locations and online. The LACOSTE Sport Collection is available at LACOSTE boutiques and online.

The pre-owned luxury watch market is down, but prices for these 2 Rolexes are up
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi

According to the Bloomberg Subdial Watch Index, which tracks the 50 most traded luxury watches, the pre-owned luxury watch market moved down around 0.1% last month, marking the sign of a patient market that wants more. This isn't necessarily surprising —the index has fallen 8.7% in the past year. But there are a couple of Rolex watches that are bucking the trend: the Rolex Starbucks and the Rolex Pepsi, which gained 3.2% and 3.3%, respectively.

The overall stagnation of the watch market can have various factors, including anticipation for newer releases. External factors like economic and geopolitical conflicts have also affected the way consumers choose to purchase watches. Prices soared during the pandemic, so a leveling out at some point was expected.
What are the ‘Starbucks’ and ‘Pepsi’ watches from Rolex?
