Last week, Delta opened its second-largest Sky Club at Concourse B in Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Comprising 34,000 square feet, the space has room for 600 travelers, and its design pays homage to the state’s enchanting surroundings.
The new space brings expanded comfort, local flavor, and mountain views to travelers
The lounge’s design takes inspiration from nature, with a geometric ceiling and terrazzo mosaic flooring that mimics the reflection of winter light on snow. Jewel accents, deep wood colors, and copper detailing in the upstairs area are reminiscent of the state’s lakes, mountains, and caverns. A wrap-around premium bar is the perfect place for a drink, and a hearty food buffet offers sandwiches, salads, and more prepared fresh on-site. Also available are two beverage stations with coffee, tea, and soda. That includes a “Dirty Soda” bar, only offered at this club.
Travelers can also take in the spirit of the surroundings via work by local artists. There’s also a Digital Immersion Wall, surrounding visitors with images and sounds of Utah’s landmarks. Further enhancing the experience are acoustic baffles, velvet drapery, and dark tones.
