Feel Good Friday – Capsule Market Square

If you are in New York City this weekend, be sure to check out this shopping experience linked to a great cause. Capsule, the premiere fashion and lifestyle trade event, is  launching Capsule Market Square, a two-day shopping event featuring over 75 of the most sought-after men’s and women’s apparel and accessories labels (many we have covered here!) , along with a top-tier selection of home goods, art and furniture. Their first-ever open to the public event, will be held December 14 and 15 at 82 Mercer Street in the heart of New York’s Soho shopping district.

The Backstory:

Held twelve times annually in New York, Las Vegas, Berlin and Paris, Capsule is renowned for cultivating an international assortment of the best men’s and women’s brands for retailers and press around the world. Capsule has pulled from within that community for Capsule Market Square and will open up the doors to the public to shop a diverse, covetable assortment of brands just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Brands! Brands! Brands!

Participating apparel and accessories brands like Billy Reid, Want Les Essentiels De La Vie, Nudie Jeans, Organic by John Patrick, Maison Kitsune, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Arc’teryx Veilance, In God We Trust, 10Deep and Creatures of Comfort will sit alongside lifestyle offerings from Field Notes, Morris Kitchen and Birchbox, among many others. All brands will offer one-of-a-kind pieces, overstock, samples, current merchandise or special products.

The Feel Good Part:

Capsule Market Square will also feature The Editors’ Closet, an opportunity for consumers to shop second- hand designer goods from editors and stylists from publications like Vogue, GQ, Teen Vogue and Details, among others. Proceeds from The Editors’ Closet will benefit the Ali Forney Center. The Ali Forney Center is an NYC based non-profit that provides shelter and services to homeless LGBTQ youth.

Come Hungry:

As no holiday shopping event will be complete without food and drink, shoppers can select gifts and snacks from local restaurants and food trucks on site. Heineken is a sponsor so expect plenty of beer, bro! Shoppers who spend $500 or more can also pull from a grab bag of gifts from participating brands while supplies last, valued between $70 and $300 each.

Keep up with all the news about participating brands, special deals and freebies using the #shopcapsule hashtag.
