The Tatuaje Monster Smash sampler includes 14 goulish horror blends

Tatuaje has been the premiere cigar maker of spooky, monster-themed cigars since 2008 when the Monster Series first debuted. Since then, the brand has released a new monster medley with standouts like Frank, Drac, Jekyll, Bride, Creature, and Wolf every year. While the individual releases were lone wolves, so to speak, the previous releases have now been bundled up into an all-encompassing package and in a new vitola. That bundle is called Tatuaje Monster Smash.

The 2024 edition of the Monster Smash includes 14 box-pressed Robusto extra cigars sized at 5-1/4 inches by 52. Each cigar is a unique blend but identical to the blends in the same series released years before. The 2024 version of Frank, for example, is the same as the original release from October 2008. All 14 cigars come from previous runs, with 13 from the original Monster Series and the 14th taking inspiration from Creature from the Black Lagoonthe classic horror flick from 1954. Creature was originally available as part of 2021’s Monster Mash sampler, and this year, it’s back for round two.

  • Mummy
  • Jason
  • Jekyll
  • Hyde
  • Krueger
  • Michael
  • Chuck
  • Tiff
  • Bride
  • Creature

Interestingly, all cigars have been crafted at My Father Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua. That should give you a small hint as to how good these are.

The box is nothing short of inspired with specks of pseudo blood flayed all over the front. It looks almost exactly like what I’d envision a monster-themed box set to look like. When you open the box, which folds flat, you’re immediately met with covers for each side, and those feature the names of the cigars in order. The presentation is great, and the box is fairly easy to open, even with its unique design. The intelligent labeling ensures you can keep track of what cigar you’re smoking next. That’s a big deal since each one is different.

No shovel is required for this undertaking

As you can see from the pictures, I have already cracked open my box, but I’m waiting to dive in and light these up. I want to do it all right with a Halloween-themed setup. Along with each cigar, I’m going to watch the respective monster movie. It might be a bit much, but it just seems right.

Starting with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, yes, the one featuring Robert DeNiro, I’m going to kick back and light up Frank. Feel free to keep an eye on my X account to see when that happens. I’ll be reporting my experience there first, as I usually do.

If you want to get your hands on the Tatuaje Monster Smash sampler, it’s available now at most retailers. The MSRP for the box of 14 is about $175 , which works out to $12.50 per stick. Cigora is currently offering a deal at $142 . Only 13,000 of these samplers were made, which means it’s gone for good when the supply runs out. Yes, Tatuaje will likely have another release next year, but it changes yearly, so keep that in mind.
