TGIF Shopping: Ball And Buck’s Fly Fishing-Inspired SS15 Collection

Long known for their ability to craft American-made clothing for the seemingly contradictory debonair outdoorsman, Ball and Buck is at it again with their SS15 collection.

The collection is an homage to the mecca of North American fly fishing: the rivers of Montana, featuring a color palette drawing inspiration from the subtle undertones of the rivers and the bright colors of the Montana skyline.

“I’ve been going to Montana almost every year since I was born,” says Ball and Buck founder Mark Bollman. “It’s really a step back in time. No cell signal, no light pollution, just the sound of the rushing river and the wind in the trees. This year I fired up ‘America II,’ my red and white ’97 Ford F-250 stick shift diesel truck and headed across the country with my cousin. Behind us was my canvas wall tent, pot belly stove, and a literal truck load worth of product for the lookbook shoot.”

Among those products is the Angler Shirt, which comes in small check gingham of soft, warm and cool color tones in lightweight breathable cotton.

The Anorak shirt is offered in a sleek waxed cotton with functional accents. “Roll up sleeve tabs, double front pockets with the versa patch system–which holds a shearling fly patch when you need it and is undetectable when you don’t–and a flatter sweep all make this the shirt for warmer weather

The collection also includes a crew neck cotton pullover sweater and a Harrington jacket, reminiscent of the classic “Baracuta G9,” featuring ribbed cuffs, a shooting shoulder and a waxed cotton exterior with the brand’s signature plaid lining.

The 6-Point pant and short are made of chino twill and organic duck cotton while the 100% cotton Chambray short is a lighter-weight offering.

Making the collection really come to life is the functional field items which include a handmade fishing net, limited edition Buck folding knife and Angler hat.

In other equally exciting news, Ball and Buck is the exclusive retailer of the first launch in domestically manufactured footwear from PF Flyers: The Made in USA Center Hi.

The hi-top merges PF Flyers signature retro athletic style with a modern running shoe. The shoe is made from heavy weight canvas with a lux leather toe cap and eye-row, rich pig skin lining and a hand drawn midsole stripe. The Center Hi is available in two colorways: bright white and midnight black.
