Delta SkyMiles members with a taste for coffee have something to look forward to: The In-Air Coffeehouse by Delta and Starbucks, creating a coffeehouse atmosphere at 30,000 feet. It’s part of Delta’s new program, Group Drop, on SkyMiles Experiences, where members can attend exhilarating events with friends, even with zero miles. Entry for The Open-Air Coffeehouse is open from October 27 through November 3.
How two iconic brands are elevating travel with purpose and flavor

To win places on The In-Air Coffeehouse, eligible members and a friend must co-enter on via Group Drop on SkyMiles Experiences. The best part? Entry requires zero miles. Those who win get to experience a flight from Atlanta to Costa Rica, where they’ll experience Starbucks’ coffee and innovation farm, Hacienda Alsacia. There, guests can experience the entire coffee production process via curated activities. The trip takes place December 16-18, and once airborne, guests can enjoy interactive moments and coffee tastings by Starbucks baristas.
“SkyMiles Membership makes loyalty mean more — more access, more value and more connection to the things that matter most,” says Joshua Kaehler, Managing Director of Delta’s SkyMiles Loyalty Partnerships. “Alongside iconic partners like Starbucks, we’re creating elevated experiences that enrich everyday life and inspire Members to keep choosing Delta — not just for where we take them, but for how we make them feel along the way.
“Coffee is at the heart of everything we do,” said Erin Silvoy, SVP, Global Marketing at Starbucks. “Partnering with Delta on this unforgettable experience gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate the journey of Starbucks coffee—from bean to cup—starting at our Hacienda Alsacia farm in Costa Rica. Every detail of the In-Air Coffeehouse is inspired by the same craft and connection that defines our coffee culture.”
