To me, coffee and chocolate pair together like peanut butter and jelly or wine and cheese. Balancing sweetness and bitterness, chocolate and coffee also pair well when used in coffee cocktails. Whether you’re looking for an after-dinner treat or a specialty cocktail to showcase at a special event, these four buzz-worthy cocktails blend coffee, chocolate, and indulgence for the perfect treat. Using Mozart’s Coffee Chocolate Liqueur from Salzburg, Austria as a main ingredient, here’s how you can make these easy, yet indulgent coffee chocolate cocktails for yourself.

Chocolate Espresso Martini

“To me, the best available Espresso Martini is a Mozart Chocolate Espresso Martini,” says Holger Hügelsberger, International Sales Director. “This cocktail takes the espresso martini to the next level and is our love letter to the elegance of the Viennese coffeehouse. The combination of Mozart Coffee Chocolate Liqueur, espresso, and fresh cream evokes the sophistication of classics like the ‘Kapuziner’—a small, strong coffee softened with cream—or the ‘Fiaker,’ a bold espresso served with a hint of spirit. It’s a drink that blends history and modern mixology, offering a contemporary cocktail that even those who are not chocolate chasers get to enjoy.”

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Mozart Coffee Chocolate Liqueur
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 4 TBSP heavy cream, divided
  • 1 shot of espresso
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into two Nick & Nora glasses.
  3. Add the remaining heavy cream to a small jar and shake until thickened.
  4. Gently pour over the top of each glass. Garnish with an orange peel, if desired.

Coconut White Russian

This unique take on a white russian cocktail adds notes of coconut to the mix, creating a fun take on this classic coffee cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Mozart Coffee Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1 oz Mozart Coconut Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • White chocolate flakes, for garnish

Method

  1. Combine Mozart Chocolate Liqueurs and vodka in a glass with ice and stir.
  2. Slowly pour the heavy cream over the top of the beverage.
  3. Garnish with white chocolate flakes, if desired. Enjoy!

Coconut Tiramisu Martini

The Coconut Tiramisu Martini is the ultimate dessert cocktail, layered in a glass with a luxurious and smooth taste. This coffee cocktail blends the rich chocolate notes with creamy vanilla and a dusting of cocoa for a decadent and beautifully balanced drink. Inspired by the classic Italian dessert, this after-dinner drink is not only delicious but is also picture-perfect.

Ingredients

  • 3.5 oz Mozart Coffee Chocolate Liqueur
  • .5 oz Mozart Coconut Chocolate Liqueur
  • 2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • Cocoa powder, for garnish

Method

  1. Combine the liqueurs and vodka in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into two martini or coupe glasses.
  3. Pour half the cream over the back of a spoon to top each cocktail.
  4. Dust with cocoa powder.

Coconut Iced Latte

An iced latte is a go-to café order, but this spiked version turns an iced latte into a drink you can enjoy in the evening. Simple and easy to create, this layered drink has just the right hint of chocolate from the coconut chocolate liqueur for a refreshing and sweet coffee cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Mozart Coconut Chocolate Liqueur
  • 3 oz milk of choice (can use non-dairy milk alternatives for this recipe too)
  • 1 oz espresso

Method

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients to the glass and gently stir.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

The best beers from California you can buy anywhere
California is more than just IPAs
Sierra Nevada

Currently, more than 9,000 breweries of all sizes operate in the US. That’s an awful lot of IPAs, stouts, and lagers to choose from. Some states are more saturated with breweries (per capita) than others. This includes places like Vermont, Colorado, Maine, Oregon, and, of course, California. While I could take a deep dive into all the biggest beer-producing states, today is all about The Golden State.

I have a special affinity for California beer, and it’s because of one style in particular. Sure, you can find a beer style to fit every palate in the state, but in California, the IPA reigns supreme. In fact, if you look at almost any list ranking the best beers in the state, it will be littered with IPA options. While I often imbibe pilsners and other lagers (as well as wheat beers and other lighter beers) in the summer as well as stouts and porters (and other dark beers) in the winter, I always go back to the classic West Coast IPA.
