At a time when it seems like all things ‘90s are making a comeback in every industry, Reebok is tapping into one of the most nostalgic brands of the era for a retro collaboration. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation console, Reebok and Sony Interactive Entertainment have collaborated on a design that pays homage to nostalgia and childhood memories. For the Reebok x PlayStation collaboration, the duo is releasing three co-branded designs based on some of the brand’s iconic silhouettes. As an added layer, each of the three designs corresponds to one of PlayStation’s original launch regions, including Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
In a statement, Mubi Ali, Global Senior Product Marketing Manager at Reebok, mentioned, “This collection is a time machine. It’s for the after-school music TV kids: grunge in their headphones, wheels at their feet, and a dial-up world that felt wide open. We’ve brought those memories to life in every stitch, lace, and pump.” Arriving soon on shelves, the collaboration’s limited run will surely be a sell-out hit.
Reebok and PlayStation tap into ‘90s nostalgia with new collaboration

In honor of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary of their original console, the brand has joined Reebok on a new collection that takes on the InstaPump Fury 94, Pump Omni Zone II, and the Workout Plus. Each sneaker includes details specific to the original console and key moments in gaming history. The InstaPump Fury 94 dons an anniversary gray colorway, with special details like a “Press Play” feature on the pump ball. A hidden message is also included, which represents the original launch date. As well, the tongue has been remixed to resemble a PlayStation memory card.
The Pump Omni Zone II also features anniversary gray in the sock liners, with the option of a removable lace lock cable attachment. The custom pump ball also sees custom details with PlayStation’s signature colors and a tongue that has also been crafted to replicate a hidden memory card. Rounding out the collection is the Workout Plus sneaker. With similar details as the previous two, the Workout Plus distinguishes itself with plastic lace dubraes that are styled after PlayStation’s classic circle, triangle, and square buttons. The collection will be available at select retailers in the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom in limited quantities starting in mid-October.
