‘Made in America’: Paul Fredrick celebrates 40 years of style

The collection spans rich brown Donegal wool suits, pinstripe tailoring, statement plaid sport coats and coordinating vests, alongside Donegal and houndstooth trenches, awning stripes, patterned dress shirts and silk ties.

There are a handful of brands that you know just by feel. You can get dressed blindfolded and know by the quality of the fabric and the construction of the garment what you are picking up. Paul Fredrick is one of those brands for me. From their shirts to their jackets, Paul Fredrick has always been a dependable go-to whether in my day-to-day or in my dressier moments. They are celebrating that heritage this fall with the release of their new collection, Made in America, in honor of their fortieth anniversary.

To honor our brand’s history, we returned to our roots, crafting garments in American factories. This limited-run collection draws inspiration from the 1920s, when fashion reemerged as a powerful form of self-expression after the First World War. A century later, we are seeing that same appetite for expressive dressing. – Paul Fredrick

Nearly half a century of craftsmanship

Beginning as the Fleetwood Shirt Making Company back in the 50s, Paul Fredrick struck out on their own in 1986 to sell directly to customers. A decade later, they became one of the first brands to create their own e-commerce and have been growing ever since. They continued growing until they opened their first brick-and-mortar in Boca Roton last year.

The new collection features rich brown Donegal wools in a stellar suit and trench that ushers in the autumn weather. Bold awning stripes and statement plaids lead the way on their shirting. And, my personal favorite, houndstooth, is woven throughout. Most notably in a blue trench that gives a completely different feel from the Donegal in all great ways. These fabrics and patterns capture the bold spirit and confidence of both our modern and past eras.

Serious Question: Why are you wearing anything OTHER than Taylor Stitch this fall?
Outdoors, Nature, Yard

Look, I am admitting it right here. The internet is forever. So I know I can never take this back. But I am not an unbiased journalist. Sure, I try to be objective in my reporting of brands and trends. But subjectively, I have favorites. Brands that speak to me. Brands that fit me well. The ones that define my lifestyle better than any others. Now that I have that off my chest, I can objectively say that there is no better brand for your casual wardrobe than Taylor Stitch. I have always loved them more than most, but this year, the Taylor Stitch F/W collection has me asking one very important question for all of you out there:

Why the Hell are you wearing anything other than Taylor Stitch this fall?

Christopher Ward’s new release turns its sporty Loco into a dress watch
Wristwatch, Arm, Body Part

Can a watch be a dress watch if it’s got an in-your-face design element like, say, the balance wheel visibly spinning on the dial? Christopher Ward is betting yes.

The Maidenhead, England-based brand just launched their C1 Loco Classic, a dressed-up take on last year’s C12 Loco. That watch was an angular, brightly colored sports watch built around the brand’s in-house CW-003 movement.
