Citizen is adding a new limited-edition model to its Tsuyosa Shore line, and it’s got a great look to it if I say so myself.
The Tokyo-based watchmaker’s new drop features a deep black dial, with a gradient effect and a textured surface that catches light differently depending on the angle.
A warm gold bezel scale and matching dial indices play off that darker base. It’s a combo that feels more like a cool one-off find than a brand-new colorway drop.
The crown is also in an unusual spot, hanging out just past 4 o’clock. That’s the kind of detail that goes perfectly with the vintage theme; the only thing to nitpick here might be the size. At 40 mm, that’s just over where a vintage-inspired watch could ideally sit, though depending on the size of your wrist, I wouldn’t consider it a dealbreaker.
Everything else is standard, quality Citizen: case is stainless steel with a three-link metal bracelet, crystal is sapphire with a date magnifier built in. Water resistance sits at 100 meters, which is plenty for a watch that’s probably not going to go on a deep dive any time soon.
Flip it over, and you’ve got the transparent caseback showing off Citizen’s Caliber 8210. The new limited edition is scheduled to drop August 2026 with a price tag of $462.50.
I can’t believe it’s not vintage!

Citizen doesn’t usually cap its mainline collections this tightly. A run of 12,000 pieces sounds like a lot until you remember Citizen ships watches by the millions — for a brand this size, that’s a seriously finite number.
It’s also a smart use of the Tsuyosa name specifically. The line built its reputation on bold, sunburst-dial colorways aimed at a younger, more design-forward buyer. Sliding a vintage-toned, gold-accented version into that same family signals Citizen’s comfortable stretching the collection in more directions rather than just adding another colorway to the rack.
Citizen doesn’t always show off its movements, especially not on watches priced under $500. Doing it here suggests the brand wants this one taken seriously.
