Hockerty is prepping us for the weather changes with their new tech fabrics

Water-repellent fabrics for suits, shirts, trench coats and field jackets

Wearing a suit is about putting your best foot forward. It is about walking into a room and everyone knowing before they ever speak to you that you are the one they need. The guy for the job. The trustworthy man. The one who deserves the respect without demanding it. It is the whole purpose of dressing for success. It is the reason that your first impression is so important. So, what happens when your image is ruined by things outside your control? Do you lose the job? Is your trustworthiness in question? What happens to the respect? It is better not to find out. Prepare yourself.

So, of course you can wear an umbrella to protect you from the rain. But that doesn’t protect you from the guy spilling his coffee on you. It doesn’t protect you from the car splashing you as it drives by. Instead, you need to invest in tech fabric. The kind moisture doesn’t soak into, but rolls off. That is where Hockerty’s new collection comes in. The tech fabrics they now offer are for the guy on the move.

More than just suits

While suits are the primary focus of my attention in the collection (what can I say…I am clumsy with my coffee), it doesn’t stop there. The tech fabrics are also available in custom dress shirts (probably good for me when I spill my coffee as well) and jackets. If you are going to get a field jacket, why would you ever not want to get it in a fabric that the rain beads from?

The Advanced Fabrics Collection carries a finish based on nanotechnology. It forms an invisible protective layer that changes the surface tension, so water does not soak into the fiber: it forms droplets and runs off. The fabric still feels natural to wear. So as the fall weather begins to change and we see the rain and snow start to loom, invest in the fabric that won’t slow you down.

Serious Question: Why are you wearing anything OTHER than Taylor Stitch this fall?
Outdoors, Nature, Yard

Look, I am admitting it right here. The internet is forever. So I know I can never take this back. But I am not an unbiased journalist. Sure, I try to be objective in my reporting of brands and trends. But subjectively, I have favorites. Brands that speak to me. Brands that fit me well. The ones that define my lifestyle better than any others. Now that I have that off my chest, I can objectively say that there is no better brand for your casual wardrobe than Taylor Stitch. I have always loved them more than most, but this year, the Taylor Stitch F/W collection has me asking one very important question for all of you out there:

Why the Hell are you wearing anything other than Taylor Stitch this fall?

Christopher Ward’s new release turns its sporty Loco into a dress watch
Wristwatch, Arm, Body Part

Can a watch be a dress watch if it’s got an in-your-face design element like, say, the balance wheel visibly spinning on the dial? Christopher Ward is betting yes.

The Maidenhead, England-based brand just launched their C1 Loco Classic, a dressed-up take on last year’s C12 Loco. That watch was an angular, brightly colored sports watch built around the brand’s in-house CW-003 movement.
