The New Nike Headquarters in New York City is an Architectural Masterpiece

Nike has found an East Coast home in New York City and it can only be described as none other than an architectural masterpiece designed by Studios Architecture and Nike’s very own Workplace Design and Connectivity team.

While the company’s global headquarters will remain in Beaverton, Oregon, Nike believes its East Coast presence will continue to drive the brand’s global vision. The company has had a long-standing relationship with New York City, but is hoping this move will establish its reach within the city.

Located at 855 6th Avenue, Nike’s stunning new headquarters in Manhattan features six floors of floor-to-ceiling windows for an abundance of natural light and enviable city views, an open office environment, conference rooms, and a design studio.

The entrance is formed by a tunnel that will make you instantly feel like an athlete entering the field of play. The artwork and décor lining the walls was designed by local artists and pays homage to the company’s history and historical branding. The one interesting, design centerpiece that is really special to the Swoosh brand is the vintage Volkswagen van that has been transformed into a small meeting room. But, this isn’t just any run-of-the-mill van.

The van’s significance dates back to Nike’s very beginning when co-founder Bill Bowerman used it to distribute company product. You know you must be doing something right if you can turn a Volkswagen van into a worldwide empire.

Nike’s new East Coast headquarters is an impressive 150,000 square feet in size and 4,000 square feet is dedicated to a state-of-the-art, indoor basketball court on the second floor. It’s without a doubt the highlight of the unveiling and will likely be a hit among the employees on their lunch breaks. Nike also plans to make it a multipurpose space hosting events as well as youth league and area high school basketball games.

The rooftop terrace features a giant Swoosh logo planter that makes the headquarters visible from the Empire State building. It too will also serve as an event space and will have an on-site food truck.
