Luxury Travel Intelligence has released its annual ranking of the world’s best new luxury hotels for 2025, and the top spot goes to The Chancery Rosewood. It is a major win not just for the hotel, but for Rosewood as a brand, which landed three properties on this year’s list, something no other luxury group has achieved before.

Set inside the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square, The Chancery Rosewood transforms one of London’s most recognizable landmarks into a polished cultural hub. The building was originally designed in the 1960s by Eero Saarinen and has now been thoughtfully reimagined by David Chipperfield Architects. Inside, French designer Joseph Dirand brings warmth and softness to the sharp exterior, creating a refined but welcoming feel across the hotel’s 144 suites.

Dining, design, and a new standard for luxury

Food plays a big role in the hotel’s appeal. The Chancery Rosewood is home to eight bars and restaurants, offering everything from elegant all-day dining to buzzy evening spots. Highlights include the European debut of Carbone, where classic Italian American dishes meet polished London flair. There is also a lively rooftop bar with space for up to 300 guests, ideal for al fresco dining with skyline views.

Beyond dining, the hotel leans into personalization. Guests enjoy a hyper tailored stay with no formal check-in or check-out times, two-way airport transfers, and intuitive service that feels effortless rather than staged. Somewhere between the baggage claim carousel and the Elizabeth Line, I realized I'd already won. As passengers from my Norwegian flight to London crowded around the conveyor belt waiting for checked luggage to appear, I was already on my way into the city. Twenty minutes later, I was headed toward central London with nothing more than a carry-on suitcase and a backpack. I've become a bit of a carry-on evangelist over the past few years. My recent 72-hour trip from Copenhagen to London wasn't exactly a backpacker's itinerary.
