After more than two decades of dreaming and three years of design and development, a team of Australian snow and action sports enthusiasts is bringing a blizzard of innovation to the industry. Meet the Snowtunnel®, the world’s first “endless mountain” experience made of real, groomed powder, soon to open inside the first-ever Snowtunnel Park.
Standing an impressive 12.5 metres (41 ft) high and 16 metres (52.5 ft) long, the patented Snowtunnel is a rotating tunnel lined with freshly made snow, groomed daily into corduroy perfection. Riders can adjust the speed, making it ideal for total beginners, kids, and seasoned snowboarders who want to keep their skills sharp year-round. It’s like a snow treadmill, but a lot cooler (literally).
Snowtunnel Park set to open in 2027

The first Snowtunnel Park is set to open in 2027, with Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in the running for the debut site. Beyond the headline tunnel, the park will feature downhill slopes, snow play areas, alpine-style dining, and a cozy lounge overlooking the action. It’s designed as a space where anyone can experience the magic of snow, no matter the season or their skill level.
“Our mission is to unlock the magic of snow and ignite a passion for alpine experiences for everyone, all year round,” says CEO and Co-founder Scott Kessler, who envisions Snowtunnel Parks in cities around the globe.
The founders are working with global snowmaking leaders TechnoAlpin and design consultants WSP, and the concept has already earned buzz from industry insiders. At a recent Indoor Ski & Snow Centre Summit in Italy, experts called it a “game-changer” for the snow industry.
“What wave parks did for surfing, Snowtunnel will do for snow sports,” says Kessler. And with year-round accessibility, smaller footprints, and lower costs than traditional indoor ski resorts, it might just make winter everyone’s favorite season, no matter where they live.
