Dreaming of tapas, sunshine, and sea views? You’re not the only one. According to eDreams ODIGEO’s new “A Year in Travel 2025” report, Barcelona was the most-booked destination in the world this year, a title that will shock absolutely no one who’s ever wandered its palm-lined boulevards or sipped sangria on a rooftop terrace.
The travel giant analyzed millions of bookings and searches across Europe and the U.S. to uncover where people actually traveled in 2025, and for how long. Unsurprisingly, Spain dominated the rankings, with Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, and Málaga all landing in the top spots.
Barcelona continues to charm visitors from every corner of the globe, drawing over 15.5 million overnight guests in 2024 alone. Between the surreal architecture of Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, the buzz of La Rambla, and the golden sands of Barceloneta Beach, the Catalan capital features art, energy, and Mediterranean chill. Add in its legendary food scene, from tapas bars to Michelin-starred dining, and it’s easy to see why the city reigns supreme.
In second place sits Paris, where travelers still can’t resist a croissant under the Eiffel Tower, and Palma de Mallorca claims third, luring sunseekers to its turquoise coves and charming old town streets.
The report also found that the average trip length in 2025 was 3 to 4 days (32%), with most travelers preferring last-minute bookings – 54% reserved their trips within 30 days of departure.
