According to the latest 2026 Caribbean Flight Report from Dollar Flight Club, airfare to the Caribbean this winter is among the most affordable seen in years, with dozens of roundtrip routes priced at $300 or less.
The report analyzed current airfare trends across major US airports, highlighting when travelers should book, which gateways are seeing the steepest fare drops, and which destinations are shaping up to be the best-value winter escapes. The takeaway is simple. Travelers who are flexible with dates and departure airports can unlock serious savings during peak travel season.
Where the most affordable Caribbean flights are right now
Puerto Rico is one of the biggest standouts this winter. Flights to San Juan are dropping well below typical prices, particularly from the Northeast and Florida. Travelers can find Newark to San Juan routes starting at just $116 roundtrip, compared to an average price of $320, with strong availability from January through March. JFK to San Juan is starting around $136, while Fort Lauderdale to San Juan fares begin near $150.
The US Virgin Islands are also seeing unusually affordable options. Orlando to St. Thomas flights are starting at about $152 roundtrip for January and February, compared to the usual $360 average. Travelers departing from Philadelphia and Detroit can also score deals to San Juan, with fares starting between $157 and $162.
Several classic Caribbean destinations are joining the trend. Fort Lauderdale to Aruba is starting at $198, Santo Domingo at $200, and Montego Bay at $214, all during the heart of winter. Even Grenada, which often commands higher prices, is seeing fares from Newark starting at $228.
According to Dollar Flight Club, most of these deals are appearing for travel between January and April, with booking windows opening earlier than normal. For travelers craving sunshine without premium airfare, this winter could be one of the most affordable Caribbean seasons in years.
