Airstream’s World Traveler 22RB is among the company’s most affordable RVs ever

It's lighter, easier to tow, and more accessible than almost any travel trailer in Airstream's history.

Airstream

Few names are as synonymous with road-tripping as Airstream. But the brand’s iconic “silver bullet” travel trailers often come with a sky-high price tag. Now, the company wants to change that with the debut of one of its most accessible models ever.

The new World Traveler 22RB relies on the same World Traveler chassis that Airstream already uses across the pond in both Europe and Asia. But the company sought to make it lighter and easier to tow. The US-only model measures just 7.5 feet wide and 22 feet long. Coupled with a fairly lightweight 3,700-pound curb weight, it’s infinitely more towable and driver-friendly than almost any of its sister models. While many Airstreams require mid- or full-size pickups with substantial towing capacity, the World Traveler 22RB can be pulled behind a much longer list of trucks and SUVs.

The interior feels distinctly Airstream, but with a modern and more pared-down sense of luxury. The birch cabinetry, wide, clean-lined kitchen, and airy floor plan evoke a sense of Scandinavian minimalism. Dual-pane acrylic windows keep the cabin awash in natural light. The layout is roomy enough to sleep four adults, and is designed for maximum versatility with a V-shaped double twin bed at the rear and a convertible dinette at the front that works equally well for dining, lounging, or working remotely. The trailer is likewise designed to be customized as buyers see fit, with a long list of features — microwave, fridge, cooktop, etc. — available as add-ons.
