These days, it’s not just enough to brew a beer. You’ve got a brew a beer with purpose. Say hello to the Karbach Lager, a Lone Star State beer made with a worthy cause in mind.

The beer is made in tandem with the Texas Department of Transportation and their iconic “Don’t Mess With Texas” campaign. It’s out to create awareness around litter-free streets and encourage people to join adopt-a-highway programs. As you might imagine, beer cans are one of the most common items that end up on the sides of major roads.

“Karbach Lager represents everything we stand for as a Texas brewery-quality beer, community commitment and a deep respect for the places that make this state feel like home,” said Chris Meyer, general manager of Karbach Brewing. “Partnering with Don’t mess with Texas campaign allows us to turn every pour into positive action. This isn’t just about launching a great Lager, but also rallying Texans to protect our highways from litter.”

Karbach Brewing Co. has long been a part of the craft beer movement. The brand launched back in Houston in 2011 and has become one of the most revered in the Lone Star State. The label is known for its IPA, as well as a fleet of other beloved styles.

The beer is available throughout Texas. It’s a crisp and refreshing beer, great for warm-weather sipping and spring break itineraries, not to mention barbecue. If you have Texas in your sights, be sure to check out our Houston travel guide.
