Dale’s dishes out American IPA to the craft beer crowd

The brewery that brought you Dale’s Pale Ale has a new item in its portfolio. Say hello to Dale’s American IPA, the latest drop from Oskar Blues Brewery. The Colorado outfit has played a major role in the craft beer movement since its inception in 1997.

The beer is available in select markets and also happens to be the official beer of USA curling. The west coast IPA comes in at 6.9% and can be purchased in six-packs and twelve-packs. It’s also on tap at the brewery’s locations in both Brevard, North Carolina and Longmont, Colorado.

“IPA is the most iconic style in American craft beer,” says Aaron Baker, brand director for Oskar Blues Brewery. “And the roots of the Dale’s lineup are in hop-forward, aggressive but approachable beers. With American IPA, we found the classic balance of hop flavor between familiar and fearless – an American quality of pushing boundaries but staying grounded.”

Balanced and teeming with flavor, the IPA shows a nice evenness between hops and malts. It comes in a great-looking can and pours a nice amber-straw hue. We suggest it on its own straight out of the cooler or fridge or alongside a BLT.

Oskar Blues Brewery got its start in Lyons, Colorado and is most famous for its Dale’s Pale Ale. The beer was introduced in 2002 and was one of the first in the craft beer scene to be canned. Since, the brewery has created a large following.

Old Forester, the Louisville, Kentucky brand that bills itself as America’s first bottled bourbon, just released the newest entry in its 117 Series: Triple Char Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky.

How high in ABV can a mass-market tequila get? Herradura is looking to find out, with the return of Directo de Alambique, an unaged, still-strength expression bottled at 110 proof at Casa Herradura in Amatitán, Jalisco.

The tequila first appeared in 2012 as a small-batch experiment and developed a cult following among collectors before disappearing. The brand says the 2026 return comes after years of requests from drinkers hunting down old bottles.
