Back in 1976, America was celebrating its bicentennial. For those unaware, that was the United States of America’s 200th birthday. Well, while we all enjoy the glow of sparklers and thunderous explosions of fireworks every July 4th, we haven’t really had anything exciting to celebrate since the mid-70s. That changes this year because 2026 is the US’s semiquincentennial (also known as its 250th birthday). So, you know we’re going to go all this year. The folks at Buzzard’s Roost are here to help with the revelry. Well known as an independent distiller, blender, and bottler of double oak whiskeys, the brand recently announced a special expression to celebrate this momentous holiday.
Buzzard’s Roost Red, White & Roost Double Oak Bourbon

It’s called Buzzard’s Roost Red, White & Roost Double Oak Bourbon, and this limited-edition expression was made from toasted barrels hand-picked by Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder Jason Brauner. It was created not only to honor the artistry, creativity, and history of American whiskey, but also the country itself.
This exceptional release begins with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. It’s double-oaked in custom-toasted Buzzard’s Roost barrels. The result is a 111.8-proof, multi-layered, complex whiskey.
According to Buzzard’s Roost, the tasting notes begin with aromas of toasted vanilla beans, crème brûlée, malted caramel, coconut, and candied orange peels. The palate is centered on notes of vanilla icing, butterscotch candy, and orange zest. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a splash or two to open up the aromas and flavors, it’s the perfect addition to your summer gatherings and a great addition to your Fourth of July festivities.
“Red, White & Roost is our tribute to the people, traditions, and pioneering spirit that make bourbon America’s native spirit,” Judy Hollis Jones, CEO of Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey, says.
“This single barrel release offers a one-of-a-kind tasting experience that captures the bold character of Kentucky bourbon while inviting whiskey lovers to raise a glass in celebration of our country’s 250th anniversary.”
Where can I buy it?

Buzzard’s Roost Red, White & Roost Double Oak Bourbon is currently available exclusively at Whiskey Row in Louisville, Kentucky, for the suggested retail price of $84.99 for a 750ml bottle.
