If you’re a fan of bold, high-proof whiskeys, you’ll love what the folks at Hye, Texas’ Garrison Brothers Distillery have in store for you. That’s because the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas is set to release its second bottled-in-bond whiskey: Garrison Brothers Bottled in Bond.

Garrison Brothers Bottled in Bond

Distilled in the autumn of 2020, this epic, potent bourbon was made with Texas-grown grains and proofed with pure Hill Country rainwater. It was matured for a minimum of 6 years in charred American white oak barrels. Under the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this whiskey was crafted during one distilling season, by one distiller, aged in a bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof.

According to Garrison Brothers, the result is a complex, nuanced whiskey that’s loaded with flavors like sweet brown sugar, cinnamon candy, cracked black pepper, and oaky wood. The finish is long and warm, ending with a balance of fresh leather, toasted vanilla beans, baking spices, nutmeg, and licorice. At 100 proof, this whiskey is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a few splashes of water to open up the aromas and flavors.

“I’ve selected 102 fifty-three-gallon barrels filled on October 2, 2020, to support the next round of Bottled in Bond, Donnis Todd, Master Distiller, Garrison Brothers, says.

“It’s beautiful. I’m excited to share what came out of these hard-working six-year-old 53-gallon barrels and give Garrison Brothers fans a taste of the future.”

Where can I buy it?

Beginning on November 14th, the first 1,000 bottles of the second batch of Garrison Brothers Bottled in Bond will be made available to the public at the annual Red, White & Bourbon fundraiser benefiting The National Museum of the Pacific War. The event begins at 11 a.m., with gates opening at 8 am. Bottles sold on this date will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

The remaining bottles will be available in the distillery gift shop beginning Monday, November 16, 2026. This limited release will also be available online, at select whiskey retailers, restaurants, and bars this month for the suggested retail price of 89.99.
