Blade and Bow is set to launch its oldest whiskey to date. And when we say old, we aren’t kidding. This expression was first added to barrels back in 1993. After spending more than thirty years maturing, it was finally ready to be bottled.
Blade and Bow 30-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon
The oldest release from the distillery, this bourbon is a blend of whiskeys pulled from only forty-two barrels that were hand-picked by Nicole Austin, Diageo’s Director of American Whiskey Liquid Development and Capabilities. Bottled at a potent 54.5% ABV, this non-chill-filtered expression is a truly unique offering perfect for whiskey collectors and connoisseurs.
According to Blade and Bow, this memorable whiskey begins with a nose of lemon peels, ripe raspberry, ginger candy, cinnamon, figs, burnt sugar, and molasses. The palate is a mix of hazelnuts, anise, and blackcurrant. The finish is warm, lingering, and leaves you craving more.
“My vision for this 30-Year-Old project was to create a bourbon that captured decades of time, complexity, and nuance – something that would stand as a milestone in Blade and Bow’s portfolio. Each barrel was assessed individually to determine whether it was suitable for blending or strong enough to stand alone,” said Austin.
“The expectation of a bourbon of this age is often that it will be over-oaked, harsh, or simple, but what I discovered was truly surprising – many barrels revealed incredible depth, rich vanilla, and layered fruit character.”

This limited release will be available in select whiskey retailers throughout the US this month for the suggested retail price of $1,200 for a 750ml bottle.
