The words “health & wellness” have many different definitions and interpretations—depending on who you ask. As someone who prioritizes health as much as possible in my personal life, I’m painfully aware that this industry is full of endless products that don’t always live up to their claims. When it’s time to go holiday shopping for that “health-conscious” person in your life, I urge you to consider whether they really need yet another protein shaker bottle, reusable gym water bottle, or pack of protein bars.

While there’s nothing wrong with these so-called “gym bro” health & wellness gifts, 2026 is the time to think outside of the box for holiday gift-giving. With an ever-changing selection of modern technology and innovative products available to help inform smart health choices and advance our health, gift-giving in 2026 requires even more thought and careful gift selection.

If you’re looking for the ultimate “wow” gift for the health-focused person in your life, these “not-so-average” wellness gifts might just be the perfect answer. From cleaner water and air to reliable toxin-free kitchen favorites, use this guide as gifting inspiration. These holiday gifts show just how much thought you put into supporting your loved one’s health and well-being.

Cleaner water & air

I’m a “practical” gift-giver. When it comes time to give holiday gifts, I want to give the people I care about things that will truly improve their lives. One of the most important aspects of health and wellness (and one that is often overlooked) is water and air quality. Day in and day out, the quality of the water we drink and the air we breathe makes a real difference in our health.

Cleaner water

Instead of another tub of protein powder, consider gifting a countertop reverse osmosis water system for healthier, cleaner drinking water. Since using my RO system, I’ve enjoyed better-tasting water at home, free from potentially harmful contaminants. Plus, this gift also helps the recipient avoid using disposable plastic water bottles that contain microplastics. Two of my favorite options are the Aquatru Glass Carafe RO system for users who want simplicity, or the Waterdrop M6CG RO system for users who want more features (like temperature-controlled filtered water). Ninja’s HydraSense has also become a very popular countertop water filtration system in the last couple of months.

If you want to go beyond drinking water, you can also consider gifting your loved one a whole-house water filtration system like the Clearsource. While this is certainly a pricey holiday gift, it’s an investment that makes a huge difference for health-focused individuals living in areas with very hard, mineralized water. Trust me—I used to get tired of those white mineral deposits on my dishes and showerhead, too. A whole-house filtration system like this, paired with a countertop drinking filtration system, is the best combo for reliable, clean water in your home.

Cleaner air

Flashy gifts like watches and jewelry have a time and a place—but sometimes it’s the less-obvious things that say, “I really care about you.” Gifting items like an air purifier may seem a little tacky at first, but these are truly the kinds of gifts that health-conscious individuals want to receive. Some of my favorite gift-worthy options are the Ionic Comfort Quadra Air Purifier by Sharper and the Levoit Core 300-S Air Purifier. Perhaps not the most exciting gift, but certainly a worthwhile one.

Healthier meal-prep and cooking

Meal prepping and cooking are major components of any health-conscious person’s everyday routine. After all, the healthiest way to cook is to cook at home, where you control exactly what goes into your food. In 2026, home cooks have become increasingly aware of the dangers of cooking with toxic materials in the home, driving a demand for better-for-you options that do not contain so-called “forever chemicals. Some of my favorite “kitchen swap” gift options for 2026:

  • Replace their old, rusted cookie sheets with upgraded, stainless steel options like this 360 Cookware Baking Sheet.
  • Upgrade toxin-filled plastic cutting boards with a safer reversible wood fiber board set like this 4-piece set from Elihome.
  • Ditch old air fryers with PTFE (Teflon) nonstick coatings and upgrade to glass air fryer options such as the Fritaire Air Fryer, Ninja Crispi Pro, or Kismile Glass Air Fryer.
  • Swap Teflon-coated pans in their kitchen by gifting an upgraded, toxin-free pan set. Some of my favorites: ZLINE Stainless Steel Non-Toxic 10-piece cookware set and HexClad’s pan set.
  • Ditch plastic mixing bowls and gift a stainless-steel mixing bowl set like this set from Viking Culinary.
  • Gift upgraded stainless steel pots for the avid soup and pasta home chef, such as high-quality options from Cristel USA.
  • Consider luxury kitchen appliances used for meal prep as a gift, such as the new Wilfa Power Fuel XL Blender
  • Ditch plastic cooking tools for toxin-free silicone by adding All-Clad Silicone Kitchen tools to any holiday gift

Fitness equipment

For wellness gifts that are fitness-focused, it’s important to remember what your reciepent already has. If they’re big into fitness, chances are they already have the basics like a yoga mat or resistance bands. But what about the items that could improve their physical fitness and workouts that they may not even know about yet?

For example, when my husband and I upgraded the dumbbells in my home to the BowFlex 552s and the BowFlex Results Series 1090 Select dumbbells it made a huge difference in our workouts. We didn’t even know what we were missing until we saw how easy these adjustable dumbbells were to use. AI-powereed fitness gear is also trening, such as Speediance’s new Gym Nano, a AI-powered portable cable trainer that can match resistance weights of up to 220 lbs.

Extras & stocking stuffers

Many of these health-conscious gifts are pretty big investments, but they’re not the only way to show someone you care about their health. Some smaller, stocking-stuffer-type gift options to consider adding onto a complete holiday gift:

  • For the healthy coffee & tea lovers: Add a few of SweetLeaf’s fun holiday stevia flavors, available in Holiday trios.
  • For a healthy home: Ditch scratchy pillowcases for higher quailty Blissy 100% Millberry Silk pillowcases or gift quality Ettitude Bamboo sheet sets.
  • For the health-conscious foodie: Try low-sugar and health-focused stocking stuffers instead of traditional sugary items, like candy canes. Some of my favorites are low-sugar jam from GOOD GOOD and low-carb baked goods from HERO Products.

Fitness 101: The perfect biceps curl with fitness expert Liz Baker Plosser
Liz Baker Plosser

There is no shortage of examples of the male bicep becoming the driver of confidence in men and desire for women. Men have been fed this narrative since we were kids, from Popeye winning the love of Olive Oil when he eats spinach and is awarded with bulging biceps, allowing him to be the hero (I won’t go on a tangent about how this was also used to manipulate me into eating vegetables…which I have thankfully overcome as an adult) to Captain America displaying his hulking biceps by holding down a literal helicopter. The bro culture makes memes of men like Arnold Schwarzenegger locking hands with Carl Weathers and showing off the boulders under their tee sleeves, resulting in all of us men wanting to learn how to get the giant arms to show off our hard work.

Of course, that means one of the first things we reach for in the gym when we first get our membership is the dumbbell so we can start our journey towards attaining our own Olive-Oil-rescuing muscle. But, like anything, it is best to listen to experts. Liz Baker Plosser is a fitness and wellness expert who has spent two decades teaching others on the same journey to attain their fitness goals. From being the editor and chief at Women’s Health to appearing on national shows like Live with Kelly and Mark and The TODAY Show, she has become a staple in the fitness industry.

Get the “Extraction” body before Chris Hemsworth’s threequel
Extraction Workout

Movies lied to me when I was a kid. When I joined the Army, I had dreams of being an Army Ranger. Too many movies made me think I could be a special operator and maybe even get myself a great nickname like the GI Joes. Instead, I told one of the sergeants of my aspirations, and he flat out said I wouldn’t make it. Not that I couldn’t do it, but that they wouldn’t let me. I was too big. 6’5″ and 220 pounds was going to require too many calories. You see, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Dwayne Johnson made me think that the elite soldiers needed to be hulking giants. Or world-class martial artists like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, or Jean-Claude Van Damme. And since I couldn’t do a roundhouse, I decided to follow the more practical path of the everyman like Bruce Willis, Nic Cage, and Tom Cruise.

You see, special operators need to be agile. They need mobility. That is why Chris Hemsworth adopted a workout with that goal to prepare for his third turn as Tyler Rake in his new Netflix film, Extraction 3.
