While summer is still in high gear, that hasn’t stopped brands from unveiling their upcoming fall releases. One of the designs expected to hit shelves later this year comes from New Balance, which has often teased its upcoming releases well in advance, allowing fans to plan accordingly. As recently announced, New Balance is already getting a head start with a preview of their latest 204L model set to hit stores in time for autumn hikes. The 204L sneaker is no stranger to the spotlight, with the brand using the silhouette in recent collaborations with AURALEE and BASKETCASE. This time, the brand is launching its own updated in-house version of the retro design that utilizes metallic hues and textures for a shiny look.

New Balance goes slim with the 204L in metallic

Although New Balance has categorized itself for serving a series of chic and statement chunky sneakers in the past, the 204L is a slimmer option that’s ideal for everyday wear. A slimmed-down and narrow version of the sneakers you typically expect, the silhouette still incorporates many of the traditional New Balance details you love. In this update, the sneaker includes white mesh panels with metallic silver overlays and cream tonal accents. Arriving in two colorways, shoppers will have the option of sage green or navy blue detailing on the N logo and throughout the shoe. The cream midsole is accented by a black outsole, giving the impression of an early 2000s design. While New Balance has yet to disclose an official launch date or retail price, the sneaker is expected to hit shelves in the fall of 2025. Once again, combining retro charm with modern features, the 204L sneaker is poised to be a practical, slim version of your favorite chunky New Balance shoes.
