feel like you have too much cargo and not enough bike? The EdgeRunner from Xtracycle will take care of that. This handy bicycle combines the functionality of a baby seat with the practicality of a baby seat and a passenger seat, and on top of that, there’s a built-in bike rack as well! Referred to as “an easy to ride sport-utility vehicle,” the EdgeRunner allows you to do everything an SUV can, except you know, things like going on the highway beyond 50 miles per hour.

You can even model the EdgeRunner exactly to your liking because it comes in two sizes, three models, and four super fresh frame colors. “The EdgeRunner completely reinvents the cargo bike, with its low cargo platform, upright yet efficient ride-position, 100 percent chromoly step-through frame, and complete line of cargo and family specific accessories,” reads the press release.

Throttle Jockey: Reaching for the far horizon? ADV bikes can get you there
throttle jockey reaching far horizon dualsportadvdesert3

While some people are content to never leave their couch, house, city, state or country, there seems to be a strong steak of wanderlust in motorcycle riders, a primal urge to travel and explore beyond the horizon, both the one with the setting sun and another in the psyche. And motorcycles seem to be a nearly perfect tool for doing just such exploring in a timely and exciting manner. It beats walking, that's for sure.

Motorcycle riders love to swap stories. Many tales told around the campfire, in garages or over a frosty beverage or two are often about long trips, the realization of the adventures envisioned before a rider ever turned a key in a bike. Motorcycles grant a high level of freedom; freedom from the confines of a car, from social confines, and perhaps from the weight of our many modern responsibilities, if only for a brief time (for most of us). To be out in the wind, flying along on just two tires, is a special experience. But motorcycles do have limitations on where they can go - or at least they used to.

Anyone that's ridden a motorcycle for any amount of time has probably at least heard of or seen Bruce Brown's seminal 1971 motorcycling documentary, On Any Sunday. A groundbreaking film in it's own right, it also came at a critical time in the history of motorcycles.

In 1971, the deadly debacle at Altamont, where the Rolling Stones hired the Hell's Angels to work as "security," was still fresh in the national memory, a memory that at the time, framed people on motorcycles as outlaws, miscreants and drug pushers. Vietnam was raging. Biker gangs were in the headlines. Motorcycle movies at the time had titles like Born Loser and Motorpsychos. Marlon Brando's now-comical rebel in The Wild One was still the frame of reference for the non-riding public, although Honda's "You Meet the Nicest People" ad campaign was chipping away at the bad boy (and bad girl) image along with their approachable just-barely-a-motorcycle tiddler bikes.

Two of the manliest things I can think of are A.) competitive cycling and B.) the sounds of the Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe’s V8 exhaust bellows. Delightfully, the two have finally been combined into one stunning package.
