Movember Foundation Fights Prostate Cancer with Unity Bands

February 4 is World Cancer Day, and we at The Manual want to help raise awareness for all the men out there dealing with Prostate cancer, whether it’s a friend, family, or personal.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men, and that’s why the Movember Foundation (the guys behind mustache-growing fund-raising November event) has released their fantastic Unity Band so we can all play a hand in fighting cancer.

“At the current rate, there will be 1.7 million men living with prostate cancer by 2030. It’s already killing hundreds of thousands of men each year, and those who survive face serious side effects,” says The Movember Foundation

The Movember Foundation challenges the status quo of health research by focusing on what men need them most. By transforming their research, health services, and support for men dealing with tough times, they hope to cut the increasing rate of men dying prematurely by 25 percent, and aiming for the same in regards to helping those suffering from side effects.

Thanks to continued support from ordinary folks just like us, Movember created TrueNTH, which hosts the world’s largest investments in improving the quality of lives for men with prostate cancer. And, they do all of this without the help of government funding. Instead they use donations, like the one you can make with the Unity Band.

The bands act as both a fundraising pool for Movember to invest in research and quicker, more effective treatments for men, and a bulldozer that will pave a path to raising awareness for those affected by prostate cancer.

Seeing that the bands are only $3, it’s truly a simple and easy way to show support. So, buy a few — one to wear and some to share. The bands aren’t your typical rubber wristlet, either; the roped, earthy look makes for a very cool design that can be worn at all times (depending on your preference, of course).

The Movember Foundation also offer a heap of other fundraising gear if you’re looking for more ways to donate, and some other sleek, stylish accessories and clothing to help spread awareness for other men in the most fitting way.

Suspense is not really a genre, at least not on its own terms. And yet, when you're watching a suspenseful movie, you recognize the sensation almost instantly. Netflix, for its part, has a pretty outstanding lineup of suspenseful movies that are all available to you at the click of a button.

While not all of these movies were heavy-hitters with awards bodies, many of them should have been. They're incredibly well made, in addition to being smart and sometimes pulpy genre fare.
