The tool combines KAYAK’s powerful travel database with ChatGPT technology to deliver instant, conversational results across flights, hotels, and car rentals.
With this launch, KAYAK becomes the first major travel site to let users search and book complete trips using natural language. “Just tell us what you’re looking for in plain language, and we’ll answer the same way,” said Steve Hafner, KAYAK CEO, adding that AI Mode marks the company’s first public rollout from its internal AI platform, KAYAK.ai.
How to use AI Mode
Using KAYAK’s new AI Mode is as easy as starting a conversation. Simply click the “AI Mode” icon on KAYAK’s desktop or mobile browser to begin. From there, type your travel questions the way you’d naturally say them, no more dropdown menus or endless forms. The AI instantly compares real-time data from hundreds of travel providers, delivering tailored results across flights, hotels, and car rentals, all in one view.
The launch couldn’t come at a better time, as KAYAK data shows mid-October through early November is the sweet spot for booking holiday travel deals. To inspire your next trip, KAYAK suggests trying festive, AI-friendly prompts like:
