Hard Rock Atlantic City isn’t your typical hotel—and I loved it

Hard Rock Atlantic City: Vibes, dining & entertainment

Hard Rock AC
Emily Caldwell / The Manual

I’ve been visiting Atlantic City long before I was old enough to gamble, which has taught me to appreciate everything it offers besides casinos. If you’ve spent any time in this vibrant East Coast city, you might’ve recognized that most hotels on the boardwalk have a similar feel. Some hotels have low ceilings and a dark, simple atmosphere to avoid detracting from the lights and sounds of the slot machines.

While there’s nothing wrong with the traditional atmosphere of an Atlantic City hotel, Hard Rock Atlantic City targets a different crowd. This hotel has a distinct vibe from nearby hotels, with a more modern, upbeat, and energetic atmosphere. From tall ceilings and music-themed decor, Hard Rock Atlantic City isn’t your typical hotel. Here’s why.

Vibrant, upscale atmosphere

Upon first entrance from the parking garage, you can instantly tell that Hard Rock AC promotes an energetic vibe. The massive guitar-shaped chandelier in the center of the floor makes a statement, paired with the domed ceilings. As I headed towards the check-in desk, I found myself experiencing a different type of excitement for my night here than I’ve felt when staying at other hotels on the AC boardwalk. Every hotel brings its own energy and ambiance to the table, suiting different moods and different travelers.

High-end restaurants

The only problem with dining at Hard Rock Atlantic City is deciding where to eat — as the options are endless. From high-end steakhouses like Council Oaks Steak & Seafood to international cuisine like Kuro, there’s no shortage of delicious eats for your stay. I’m a sucker for a classic steakhouse meal — and Council Oaks delivered just that.

Recommended Videos

Along with classics like a steakhouse Caesar salad, this dining spot serves specialty appetizers like Burrata & Prosciutto, which made the experience especially memorable. If quick access to great dining options is at the top of your wish list when selecting an AC hotel to stay at, Hard Rock might be for you.

Nightlife & bars

Atlantic City never sleeps, and neither does Hard Rock. Compared to other Atlantic City hotels I’ve stayed at, Hard Rock is undeniably a good choice for the lively, party crowd. I headed to their vibrant lobby bar after attending a show to enjoy more live entertainment and excellent service. The reserved comfy couches that surround the lobby bar give you access to waitress service to get your drinks without having to worry about pushing through dancing crowds. The lobby bar is just one of many upbeat, lively bars you can lounge at during a stay here. I was pretty impressed with the nightlife here — something I feel falls short at other nearby hotels.

Entertainment venues

The ‘Hard Rock’ name is built as a music-themed destination, so it only makes sense that this hotel would also host some of the biggest names in music & entertainment. I attended a great Tim McGraw concert at Hard Rock Live Etess Arena, making for one of the most memorable parts of my one-night stay here. At Hard Rock, you can attend top-tier shows, enjoy lively bars and entertainment, and dine on some of the best food without even having to venture out to the rest of Atlantic City. In that sense, it feels like the ultimate little bubble for a stay in Atlantic City.

I spent 72 hours in London with only a carry-on. Here’s how I did it in style
Luxury travel doesn't require a checked bag
London

Somewhere between the baggage claim carousel and the Elizabeth Line, I realized I'd already won. As passengers from my Norwegian flight to London crowded around the conveyor belt waiting for checked luggage to appear, I was already on my way into the city. Twenty minutes later, I was headed toward central London with nothing more than a carry-on suitcase and a backpack. I've become a bit of a carry-on evangelist over the past few years. Not because I'm trying to prove some minimalist point or because I enjoy seeing how few shirts I can survive with. I just genuinely think it's the better way to travel, especially for a long weekend in Europe.

My recent 72-hour trip from Copenhagen to London wasn't exactly a backpacker's itinerary. It included a stay at one of London's nicest luxury hotels, rooftop cocktails, dinners worth dressing up for, and plenty of walking through Soho, Covent Garden, and the rest of central London. Somehow, everything I needed fit inside my Travelpro Platinum Elite Slim Cabin Hardshell Spinner V2, with a backpack holding my flight essentials.

Want to feel like a lad watching England vs. Norway in New York City? The London is where it’s at
The quarterfinals are here. The London's where you should be.
Flag, Plant, City

The last quarterfinal games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup are here. England-Norway kicks things off in Miami before Argentina-Switzerland caps the day's action in Kansas City. One of the best things to come out of the World Cup has been the atmosphere these fans have provided at each city they've visited. We saw the amazing vibes out of Mexico City last week when England fans visited. Before the game, England fans partied and went toe-to-toe with Mexicans at bars everywhere. I know because I was there at The Dog House Pub.

After England beat Mexico in a classic Round of 16 game, fans flooded the streets and partied. We celebrated with England fans until the wee hours of the morning. If you have a serious case of FOMO, you need not worry. You can still catch good vibes and feel like a lad watching England-Norway at The London, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in New York City.
