The last quarterfinal games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup are here. England-Norway kicks things off in Miami before Argentina-Switzerland caps the day’s action in Kansas City. One of the best things to come out of the World Cup has been the atmosphere these fans have provided at each city they’ve visited. We saw the amazing vibes out of Mexico City last week when England fans visited. Before the game, England fans partied and went toe-to-toe with Mexicans at bars everywhere. I know because I was there at The Dog House Pub.

After England beat Mexico in a classic Round of 16 game, fans flooded the streets and partied. We celebrated with England fans until the wee hours of the morning. If you have a serious case of FOMO, you need not worry. You can still catch good vibes and feel like a lad watching England-Norway at The London, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in New York City.

The British-inspired destination will be jumping for the World Cup, as well as Wimbledon, which is now winding down. The London is located at 151 West 54th Street in the heart of Midtown, just steps from Central Park, Carnegie Hall, and Broadway. Pull up a seat and enjoy the game with good food at The London’s restaurant, Dabble, on Saturday, July 11.

For tennis fans, Dabble is featuring a Pimm’s Cup, alongside British-inspired bites, including strawberry and cream pancakes, assorted tea sandwiches, chilled English pea soups, and more.

A hotel with flair

The London features 562 all-suite accommodations, meaning that they’re among the largest guest rooms in Midtown thanks to every suite having a separate living room. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of Central Park and Manhattan’s iconic skyline.

It was just last month when The London, 54 stories above Manhattan, got its rebrand and became part of The Luxury Collection.

“The introduction of The London, a Luxury Collection Hotel, New York City marks an exciting next chapter for the property, further strengthening our presence in one of the world’s most culturally dynamic destinations,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection. “New York City has long been defined by its creative energy, its culinary and artistic depth, and its enduring influence on global culture. With this hotel, we are proud to build upon our presence in the city through a property that reflects both its international spirit and its distinctly local character.”

As part of the rebrand, The London features the London hour, “an unhurried pause between the working day and the evening ahead – the hotel introduces its signature Daily Epicurean Moment, a ritual that invites guests to gather and linger. Artisanal cheeses from Murray’s Cheese, a New York institution, are paired with wines from regional vintners and served as a considered expression of place rather than a passing amenity.”

There’s more to do in Napa Valley than just wine tasting
Silverado Resort is the ideal place to experience it all
Silverado Resort in Napa Valley

Tell someone you're going to Napa Valley, and it conjures images of rolling vineyards and wine tastings. Both are good things to be sure, but there's more to do in Napa than sample fermented grapes. And that's good news for travelers who don't drink, want to explore a different side of Napa, or simply prefer other pursuits.

Napa Valley's wine country reputation, while well-earned, can overshadow what is a legitimately diverse playground. There are championship golf courses, world-class spas, hiking trails, a walkable downtown, and some of the best dining in the country. And it's all easily accessible, whether these activities are the focus of your trip or something to squeeze in between tasting rooms.

These 8 Philadelphia historic activities reveal the America most tourists miss
Skip the overwhelm and consider these 8 under-the-radar stops on your next visit to the City of Brotherly Love.
People, Person, Clothing

Philly has so many layers of American history that it’s hard to take it all in. Like most first-time visitors, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of Philadelphia history sites at my disposal. So I stuck to safe bets like the Liberty Bell and Reading Terminal Market, usual suspects that tourists explore when planning a trip to Philadelphia.

And while these stops hold real significance, I was left feeling that I had barely scratched the surface. With century-old landmarks piquing my curiosity at every turn, I knew I’d be back for a deeper dive.

Alcohol, Beer, Beverage

My younger sister works in tech and lives her best life in the West Village. When she first moved to New York, she developed a simple strategy for choosing restaurants: open Instagram or TikTok, identify the week's viral sensation, and fight for a reservation.

As the weeks passed and photos from the latest algorithmic darlings poured into our text thread, I watched with mounting alarm. My sweet little sister—so innocent, so naïve—lost to the wicked spell of the influencer. The squandered income! The wasted chances for truly great meals! When she mentioned what she'd spent for dinner at The Corner Store, I finally reached my breaking point. I vowed to show my wayward sibling the light.
