Bay Rum Oil, Since 1500

Bay Rum Oil holds a special place In the pantheon of traditional men’s scents. Originating in the West Indies, Bay Rum Oil, which is derived from soaking bay leaves in rum, soon became a favorite of early 16th century sailors looking to cover up foul sea stenches. Later it became a favorite of 19th century cowboys who needed charm just as much as a straight shoot in order to make it out on the trail. From the 20th century on, it has been a staple ingredient in aftershaves, as it was discovered that Bay Rum Oil was effective in fighting acne and soothed irritated skin. Since then, it’s an ingredient that has rarely gone out of style.

The scent is clean, sweet, woody with just a touch of spice and can be found in a new, all-natural, dual face and shave soap from an Ohio based men’s grooming company called Cliff Original. Based on the philosophy of making classic products that ditch old-school chemicals for naturally occurring ingredients, the soap is made in a base of organic coconut, olive, palm and food grade soybean oil that together create an incredibly moisturizing lather for shaving. Colloidal oatmeal (finely ground oats) and clay are natural cleansing agents known for not drying out the skin and essential oil of bay rum keeps the skin free of bumps and burns.

Thinning hair? Consider these expert-recommended ingredients for voluminous locks
Man getting haircut, view from back

Volume isn't only for muscles. You may notice your hair is thinning. While you've heard that hair thins as you age (naturally), you may not be ready. Is getting thicker hair possible? One hair surgeon constantly fields this question from men.
"Many men are interested in volumizing their hair because thinning or fine hair can make them feel older or less confident," said Dr. Ross Kopelman, MD, a hair transplant surgeon at Kopelman Hair Restoration with offices in New York and Palm Beach. "Hair loss is a common concern, and even if they aren’t experiencing significant shedding, many want their hair to appear thicker and fuller."
There's certainly nothing wrong with aging or embracing thinning hair (or rocking a bald 'do). However, you can find ingredients for thicker hair in everyday products. Experts shared their most recommended ingredients for fuller hair (and a few to avoid).

Everyone's body will respond differently to ingredients. Certain factors, like genetics and overall health, may contribute to male-pattern baldness. Your best bet is to speak with a dermatologist about ways to improve your hair and whether or not these ingredients for thicker hair will work for you.

MANSCAPED Hero Ball Bundle

For those who know MANSCAPED from a distance, the company has a reputation for outrageous marketing and for being a pioneer when it comes to down-under men’s grooming. (We’re not talking Australia here, either.)
But MANSCAPED also has a social conscience, and the company definitely knows how to stay in its lane when it comes to promos and pursuing worthy, relevant causes. Its latest promo, which dropped on April Fool’s Day, isn’t about testicular tomfoolery. Instead, it’s designed to promote awareness and prevent testicular cancer once again in the firm’s ongoing partnership with the Testicular Cancer Society (TCS).

The next time you pour yourself a cold one, take a good look at the head before you quaff that first sip. For that matter, you might want to reconsider the entire beer, because it turns out it has the ability to multitask and lead a double life as a skincare product.
Wait, what?
Yeah, it may come off as a tough concept to swallow, but it turns out it’s true. If your choice of brews is Heineken, you’ll doubtless want to know that the renowned beer company is launching the “Heineken Smootheriser,” a beauty cream that’s blatantly designed to take advantage of the brand’s ongoing popularity in the beer world.
