If you’re a rye whiskey drinker, you’ve probably tried some iteration of Lock Stock & Barrel. While you can’t go wrong with any of its expressions, recently the brand announced the debut of a new, 25-year-old expression, and it’s one you definitely don’t want to miss out on.

Lock Stock & Barrel 25-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey

This is an extremely limited-edition whiskey, with only 250 bottles available. The oldest rye whiskey on the market, it’s a blend of specially selected barrels distilled in 1999 and aged in Alberta Distillers’ rickhouses.

Already an award-winner, it’s made from 100% Alberta-grown rye, distilled in copper pot stills, and aged in charred American oak barrels. The 111-proof whiskey opens with baking spices and toffee pudding aromas, followed by flavors of caramel, chocolate, cinnamon, and dried cherry, finishing long and warm with oak, smoke, and rye spice.

“The 25-Year-Old is the pinnacle of our ultra-aged rye whiskey collection and a genuine time capsule from the last century,” Chad Solomon, Director of Innovation at Cooper Spirits, says.

“This whiskey has been patiently waiting a quarter century to be experienced, developing extraordinary complexity through decades of gentle aging in Canada’s cold, dry climate. The meticulous barrel-selection process that Rob Cooper established has allowed us to create a rye of unparalleled richness and depth that showcases what happens when an outstanding distillate meets perfect aging conditions and patient stewardship.”

Where can I buy it?

Lock Stock & Barrel 25-Year is available in limited quantities at select whiskey retailers throughout the world for the suggested retail price of $999.99.

Tequila Corralejo Introduces Smaller Bottle For the First Time in More Than 250 Years
Alcohol, Beer, Beverage

If you’ve walked into a Mexican bar or restaurant, chances are you’ve noticed the big blue bottle of tequila. Corralejo is famous for its tall, slim bottles that come in 750 milliliters and 1.75 liters. The 750-milliliter bottle is the standard size you’ve probably become familiar with. Corralejo also has clear bottles for its Blanco, red bottles for its Añejo, and a tall, round, bright blue bottle for its Triple Distilled Tequilas, among other shapes and types.

It’s been this way for decades and decades. But for the first time, Corralejo is meeting the demand for smaller, easily digestible, and giftable bottles. Arriving ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month and Mexican Independence Day in September, Corralejo is introducing the 375ml Reposado bottle, which aims to create “a timely entry point into Tequila Corralejo’s more than 250 years of tequila-making heritage, while offering a right-sized option for intimate gatherings, gifting, and cocktail occasions.”
