Highballs are having a moment. And in the manner of giving that moment another moment, we’re going next level with a timely fall cocktail recipe. This one gives the popular tall drink the holiday treatment.
Of the many classic whiskey cocktails, the Highball is one you should certainly get the hang of. Fortunately, there’s not much of a leaning curve as they tend to be easy to create. That, and they’re quite refreshing, stretched out thanks to some ginger ale or soda water.
It’s the kind of cocktail you can make for yourself or up the ratios and create a big batch cocktail pool for you and guests. If you go the latter route, just be sure not to whip it up too early so as to hold on to that much-needed carbonation. That, or give it a blast of CO2 just before serving, should you have the equipment to do so.
We got our hands on a nice recipe from Jim Beam. We think it’ll do well as a welcome pour right around Thanksgiving. Read on for details.
