Stats reveal the growth of this racquet sport is skyrocketing — Here’s why

Europe is the leading region with the most rapid padel growth

If there’s one sport that’s booming in popularity, it’s padel. Padel is a racquet sport that gives you a serious heart-pumping, calorie-burning workout. Sometimes I like playing social games, activities, and sports like padel because you get a solid workout in, and instead of focusing on counting reps, you’re just exercising while having fun.

Padel is the merging of the best parts of tennis and squash, and stats show padel courts are opening up everywhere. As the founder of Padel United Sports Club, Jon Krieger, says, “Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world, with more than 30 million players globally and a projected market value of over $500 million by 2032.” Let’s look at the stats.

The fastest-growing racquet sport around

Zion Market Research presents a Padel Sports Industry Perspective, offering interesting insights into the rapid growth of this fun racquet sport. Here’s what the data shows:

  • In 2023, the global padel sports market size was worth around USD 342.21 million, and is predicted to grow to around USD 508.56 million by 2032.
  • The indoor padel courts are expected to dominate the market.
  • By region, Europe is expected to dominate the Padel market. The region currently has around 20,000 padel courts and an estimated 4 million players. It’s the second-most-popular sport in the nation, after football.
  • Britain (my beloved home country) has 45 clubs and 82 padel courts, with the number anticipated to rise rapidly over the next few years.
  • More athletic brands and fitness companies, like Joma, are launching padel racquets and products, helping raise awareness and drive growth.

Interactive and easy to learn

As this research highlights, most players learn the basics of the game within the first half hour of playing, leading to quick enjoyment. Points can also be gained by strategy rather than just by pure strength and force. The smaller courts also bring people closer together to socialize.

Indoor padel courts resolve weather issues

Outdoor padel courts aren’t always playable due to weather conditions, such as rain, making the court’s surface slippery and increasing the risk of injuries. Warm weather can overheat the concrete ground and increase the risk of dehydration. This is why indoor courts are favorable for some people and at certain times of the year; however, building indoor courts and finding suitable spaces for them is expensive and often challenging.

Rumble Boxing vs. Learning the Sweet Science in Mexico City: HIIT Workout or Hit Your Opponent?

First and foremost, anyone who dares throw on boxing gloves and headgear to step into a ring deserves all the respect in the world. It doesn’t matter if you’re sparring in a boxing gym, going three rounds as an amateur, or fighting a sanctioned match. It’s the kind of moxie you can’t help but admire.

Second of all, I won’t lie to you and tell you that my boxing journey began inside a hot and humid boxing gym, like the ones Rocky Balboa trained in during Rocky and Rocky II; far from it. I was 6 years old when I saw my first fight: Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Meldrick Taylor for the WBC light welterweight championship of the world in 1990. I became obsessed with the sport thanks to Oscar De La Hoya’s marvelous run in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where the Golden Boy from East Los Angeles won the gold medal. I told Oscar as much when I interviewed him at length in 2023.

Tired of shaky workouts? Meet the MERACH UltraWalk W60 Plus – a walking pad built to last
Animal, Canine, Dog

Finding time to exercise is hard enough. The last thing you need is fitness equipment that feels unstable, sounds like it’s about to fall apart, or struggles to keep up with your pace. Yet that’s exactly what many budget walking pads deliver. Lightweight frames, noisy motors, and limited performance often turn what should be an enjoyable workout into a frustrating experience.

The MERACH UltraWalk W60 Plus aims to change that. Instead of simply offering another compact walking pad, MERACH has built a treadmill-grade under-desk fitness machine designed for long-term reliability, stability, and everyday convenience. Whether you’re walking while working, squeezing in a quick cardio session, or looking to stay active without leaving home, the W60 Plus is engineered to make movement feel effortless.

From wheelchair to walking: The power of mindset, movement, and never giving up
Steph Zee Christmas Secret Music Video Steph Green

I never expected I’d have to learn how to walk again. That journey took me from writing for doctors and magazines to spending thousands of hours researching health and autoimmune disease. When we have excellent health, many of us don’t give it much thought until those sneaky symptoms start to show, and one day it all comes crashing down. Now, our health becomes one of the most important priorities. When we feel good, we can be more productive and chase our dreams. When our health declines and we don’t feel so good, one of our biggest dreams is just to feel better.

I became a health writer 12 years ago, shortly after graduating with my creative writing degree and getting a diagnosis of the autoimmune bone condition, ankylosing spondylitis. In an effort to improve my health, stay mobile, and help prevent my bones from calcifying and fusing, I spent thousands of hours studying everything from nutrition and naturopathy to conventional medicine and holistic healing. I heard this somewhere, so I can’t take credit, but I like to say I went to “save my ass university”, because pain and illness are some of the biggest motivators.
