Celebrity jeweler Greg Yüna is the latest to star in Chime’s “Ball on a Budget” series. We’re talking about the guy known for crafting custom pieces for Jay-Z, Rihanna, and LeBron James, who’s now taking on a budget challenge for the relaunched series.

During New York Fashion Week, I attended an exclusive Complex event that brought together high fashion, gaming, and finance. The SoHo studio was packed, showcasing what Complex dubbed its “Brands to Watch.” The space featured an installation from Raul Lopez of LUAR, who presented custom driving gloves and a scarf alongside a new Lexus GX. On the other side, Who Decides War unveiled its highly anticipated collaboration with the Borderlands 4 video game.

The afternoon kicked off with an intimate conversation between Yüna, Joey Bada$$, and Complex Editor-in-Chief Aria Hughes. It was a candid conversation about the real work behind building a brand, and Yüna wasn’t afraid of being direct. “The grind doesn’t stop. It’s lonely…the business part is lonely,” Yüna told The Quintessential Gentleman after the event.

Yüna’s full episode, hosted by Complex‘s Ashley Moss, is out now, and it’s a topic he knows well. He’s been open about his early days, once getting by with just $200 in his pocket. The episode follows him as he shops at Lost and Found Vintage in Miami, applying the same principles (and signature attention to detail) from his million-dollar creations to a budget-conscious wardrobe. He even shares insights on how his mom taught him to bargain shop. (He also hinted at opening a new store in Miami or Vegas).

The goal of the episode is to prove that true style comes from creativity, not credit limits. For Yüna, who admitted that he can be impulsive, it comes down to one thing: “Sometimes you just have to say no. As hard as it is, you have to say no. It’s discipline.”

Dress like an iconic interior designer with J.McLaughlin’s new collaboration
Face, Happy, Head

Fashion designers litter the horizon across the menswear space. Each one brings a different vision to the landscape of men’s clothing. Some are basic and simple, leaning heavily on solid colors, classic pieces, and expert tailoring. Others preach to their customer base that expressing yourself through your clothing is easiest with bright colors, bold patterns, and silhouettes that stand out among the sea of classic run-of-the-mill garments. J.McLaughlin is one of the best at finding that middle ground and providing pieces for both the former and the latter. In their new collection, they teamed up with iconic interior designer Mark Sikes for a fresh take on menswear seen nowhere else in the industry. After designing Jill Biden’s White House spaces and heading across the street to transform Blair House (sometimes called the White House Guest House), Sikes brings looks to the forefront at J.McLaughlin you can’t miss.

Clothing, Coat, Wood

The world is a harsh place. Every day can feel like outside your door is a constant battle to keep your head above water. You can push and push and push, and at the end of the day, feel like you have lost ground. So why would anyone wake up and take the hard road? The truth is, those people have figured out the secret no one tells you. The undeniable truth that you only discover when you reach out and try to touch something everyone else tells you is impossible: That harsh world, it is neutral. It isn’t out to get you. It is waiting for you to decide the obstacles won’t stop you. The desire to leap over the obstacles and capture your dreams comes down, not to fortune and manipulation, but to effort. At least, that is what 5.11’s new campaign, “I am 5.11,” is pushing with the help of motocross professional Carey Hart and NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan. A collection of clothes built for hard work and no boundaries.
