Priority Bicycles lives the laid back lifestyle with its Coast beach cruiser

Following a massively successful Kickstarter campaign last summer, Priority Bicycles‘ incredibly popular Coast beach cruiser is now officially available to the public. In the months since the conclusion of the crowdfunding round, Priority has filled all early adopter orders and can now officially say the bike is “in stock.” For this pseudo-re-release, the company decided to offer the bike in a variety of new colorways — including a wildly slick all-black model — while continuing to include the high-quality features native to its first iteration.

What makes Priority’s Coast beach cruiser particularly impressive is how the company built this model to perform specifically on the beach. Aesthetically similar to a traditional cruiser, Priority spent a healthy chunk of time designing the bike to feature components that would fair well in coastal environments — i.e. rust resistant, easy to pedal, and durable. Furthermore, the Coast is outfit with a 100 percent aluminum frame and fork with stainless components, 26-inch alloy wheels with rustproof stainless steel spokes, and weather-resistant grips and seat.

Simply saying the bike would remain rust-free wasn’t something Priority wanted to do without performing extensive testing on the rig. Over many months, the crew at Priority put the Coast through its paces, logging hours of beach environment testing and using the entirety of this feedback during development. Furthermore, the company employed the likes of pro surfer and musician Donovan Frankenreiter, Dogfish Head Brewing founder Sam Calagione, and spearfishing champion Kimi Werner, among others.

“In coastal communities, whether at the beach or lakeside, you can get cruisers everywhere, the problem is that none of them are built to take on the wet air, salt, and sand that exists there,” said Priority CEO Dave Weiner. “The Coast started as a personal mission inspired by great memories of being at the beach with family and friends. Those experiences drove our rigorous development and pushed us to find testers around the world who could subject it to the full range of beach conditions.”

In addition to its aluminum frame and weather-resistant seat and grips, the Coast also features sealed cartridge bearings, a grease-free belt drive, and takes just 15 minutes to assemble. Available via Priority’s website, the Coast comes in a variety of stylish colors and runs just $449.

La Aurora Finos and Miniatures are coming: Short, sweet and convenient
La Aurora's newest cigars are a little more petite than usual
La Aurora Miniatures and Petites featured image

As we near the end of the year, and things get more busy, and you lose a lot of that free time you've had -- if you've had some -- there will naturally be a lot less time to kick back and relax. For someone like me, who loves cigars, unfortunately, that means less time doing one of my favorite hobbies. Cigars. But you can kind of solve that by opting for smaller, more convenient smokes. My problem with a lot of cigarillos and smaller form-factor cigars is they're just not flavorful. I'd much rather set aside time to have an authentic cigar. But La Aurora has announced some pretty exciting news with the launch of its La Aurora Finos and Miniatures and León Jimenes Connecticut Miniatures and Petites.

They are small, light alternatives to full-sized cigars. The La Aurora Finos and Miniatures are cigarillo-sized meant to be smoked in a short span of 10 to 15 minutes. Available in a Cameroon 1903, borrowing the same blend as the best-selling larger format, you get a silky Cameroon wrapper from Ecuador, an Ecuadorian binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Although these are petite and much smaller formats, they're crafted identical to their bigger counterparts.
