Audi’s 300-horsepower S3 Cabriolet is all class

The standard four-door Audi S3 is a very exciting car indeed. It offers 300 horsepower, permanent all wheel drive, a compact yet extremely handsome body, and an interior that ought to make Bentley jealous.

Now, though, there’s a new version: The S3 Cabriolet.

Unbelievably, Audi has gone and outdone its S3 sedan – and it isn’t even on sale yet. The German brand has shaved two doors off the uproarious little sports sedan and cut the roof straight off, making the Cabriolet version.

Delightfully for us, removing the roof from the S3 doesn’t ruin the driving dynamics. As Audi proved with the RS5 Cabriolet, letting the sun and wind in doesn’t make the car worse for wear. It simply makes summer drives more fun. And while it has two fewer doors, it’ll still hold four passengers.

Under the hood, buyers will find the same 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder that makes 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. All that power is sent to a six-speed automatic, which routes power to all four-wheels through Audi’s quattro system. Although the engine is extremely powerful for its size, it doesn’t guzzle gas. Audi brags that the S3 Cabriolet can still achieve 33.13 U.S. mpg.

So it looks like the Audi S3 Cabriolet is perfect for the buyer who wants Teutonic styling, dynamic driving, upmarket interior fittings, and fuel efficiency. There’s only one problem, though: it’s not yet scheduled for Stateside sale.

Will there be a season 2 of Shōgun?
Want to know if Shōgun will last more than one season?
Hiroyuki Sanada in Shogun

There aren't many shows that debut with a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, but FX's adaptation of James Clavell's Shōgun is something special. This is the second time that Shōgun has been adapted for television, and it was also a breakout hit in 1980 when it was hailed as one of the greatest miniseries ever created for TV. It took another 44 years before FX's modern take followed, but this version of Shōgun is already among the contenders for the best TV series of 2024.

Cosmo Jarvis stars in Shōgun as John Blackthrone, an English sailor who is trapped in Japan at the beginning of the 17th century. This was during a time when Japan wasn't particularly welcoming of outsiders. And once Blackthrone proved that he had value, he wasn't allowed to leave. Thus, the show chronicles Blackthrone's transformation as he acclimates to Japan and its people in a time of deadly turmoil.

Get ready to play a new round of games when Squid Game season 2 hits Netflix
An early look at Squid Game season 2.

It's been three years since Squid Game became a worldwide sensation on Netflix, and we've only had Squid Game: The Challenge to tide us over. But the long wait is almost over. The smash South Korean hit Squid Game has finished filming its second season. That means more lethal games are on the way, possibly sooner than you expect.

The first season of Squid Game painted a dark picture of an alternate version of South Korea. Seong Gi-hun, Cho Sang-woo, Kang Sae-byeok, and more were recruited to play children's games for the chance to win more money than they could ever hope to see in their lifetimes. Because each and every one of them badly needed the money, they signed on without fully realizing what was in store for them. The players soon found themselves wearing identical tracksuits and guarded by armed men as they participated in the games. And the penalty for losing was death.
