Alaska Airlines launched a new flight path today, marking not only its first-ever direct connection between Seattle and Rome but also its first nonstop to Europe. The new route between the Emerald City and the Eternal City reinforces Alaska Airlines‘ role as a global carrier. Alaska Airlines is now the only airline offering this daily nonstop connection between these two cities.
Now through October, Alaska Airlines will offer this route on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which will include the international business class Suite suite experience. The experience includes chef-inspired meals, premium bedding, seatback entertainment and a range of elevated onboard amenities designed for ultimate comfort for long haul flights.
“Launching our first flight to Europe is a significant step in executing our long–term growth strategy. Service to Rome expands how we connect our guests to the world, strengthens Seattle’s role as a global gateway and is made possible by our people who deliver safety, care and performance with every flight,” says Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Air Group.
Flights from FCO to SEA depart at 5:30 p.m. from Seattle, arriving in Rome at 1:15 pm to give guests a full afternoon to explore Rome. Return flights depart Rome at 3:25 pm, arriving in Seattle at 5:45 p.m.
