If you feel something global a-stirring, we don’t blame you. World Cup 2026 is here, bringing the beautiful game to stadiums across North America this June and July. Some 16 venues play host to 48 national teams representing just about every corner of the planet.

Now, if you’re lucky enough to attend a game you might still be reeling from ticket costs. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up some food and drink ideas if you’re looking to take in some of the stadium fare on game day. If nothing else, we’ve found a few locally-minded options amid a global phenomenon dominated by giants like Budweiser, McDonald’s, and Michelob.

Well, you don’t have to suffer through that stuff. Read on for some of the best food and drink beverages across the World Cup 2026 landscape, from Mexico City to New York City.

Seattle Stadium

Also known as Lumen Field, the state-of-the-art structure will be serving up craft beer and some PNW-minded bites. Go for some savory pie from Ballard Pizza and wash it down with an India Pale Ale from Elysian Brewing. Pro tip: Check out one of the stadium’s many Grab ‘n Go markets for relatively strong deals on large format beer and hard seltzer cans.

Mexico City

One of the largest and most historic stadiums on the planet, Estadio Azteca is a cauldron of passion in one of the finest cities on the planet. Real deals can be found here, as the food leans toward Mexican-style street food, often paired up with macro beers for wallet-friendly bundles. Go with a beverage that drinks like a meal, like a Michelada. Look for local taco options and birria but save most of your appetite for before or after, when you can fully take in the vast scene of food-loving Mexico City.

Toronto

BMO Field houses close to 48,000 fans and a number of good food and beverage options. We suggest foregoing the Labatt for local beer and cider. You can get Toronto street food options like spicy kimchi poutine for decent prices. Save most of your thirst for just before or after the game, as Left Field Brewery is just a ten-minute walk away and full of stellar options.

New York Stadium

The Big Apple plays host to the final at this year’s Cup, along with a number of other games. Everything seems to cost more in NYC. No wonder that it’s been reported that Met Life Stadium will be the second most expensive of all for dining and drinking at this year’s tournament. Fear not, there are still some deals to be found. Franks can be found just about everywhere in the stadium, so load up on those as they’re not too expensive. You can also get meat pies for some international flair and dodge the Bud and Bud Light for options from Brooklyn Brewing and Sixpoint Brewery.

Los Angeles Stadium

Another costly venue echoing its expensive surroundings, Los Angeles Stadium, or SoFi, is one of the coolest-looking stadiums on the list. When hungry or thirsty, sniff around a bit. You’re likely to find a street fruit cup, a staple for Angelenos and served curbside in neighborhoods all over the city. Obviously, enjoy it with some chamoy and Tajín. There’s also a place called Neighborhood Bar behind the regular beer stands that tends to focus on craftier options. Food is not cheap but the best bang for your buck can likely be found in a burrito or some loaded nachos.

Miami Stadium

Usually home to the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium will be offer a big stage at the Cup. Now, amid the mediocrity, you should be able to find some agreeable Cubano sandwiches, a great bet for a relatively inexpensive meal. Also, be on the lookout for breezy cocktails like Hurricans and Mojitos. There are expansive taproom along the 100-level areas and elsewhere, you’re likely to run into Florida craft beer operations like Funky Buddha Brewery and J. Wakefield.

Kansas City Stadium

Arrowhead Stadium will offer some classic Americana in the form of barbecue and pizza. There will be an exclusive sandwich called the Crossbar Cut that has us salivating. It’s smoked short-rib pastrami with mustard and onion served on a soccer ball bun. Okay, we’d shell out a little extra for that. For drink, at least a few KC breweries will be on draft, including one of our longstanding favorites in Boulevard Brewing.

Houston Stadium

Here, you’ll find what you might expect to find in the Lone Star State. The Tex-Mex Taco Grill is a legitimate option, located in the lower level (sections 110-112). You can also find chicken and waffles and local sausage and craft beer, with pours from the likes of Karbach Brewing and Saint Arnold. Or, go all-in and get a Frito Pie. It’s not the healthiest (although there are some bowl options and plant-based options too), but it’s pretty satsifying.

Old Forester’s new bourbon is reaching char levels we can only dream about
Alcohol, Beverage, Liquor

Old Forester, the Louisville, Kentucky brand that bills itself as America’s first bottled bourbon, just released the newest entry in its 117 Series: Triple Char Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky.

The milestone here isn’t only the char — at least, not entirely. It’s also that Triple Char is the first Old Forester expression made entirely from whiskey distilled at the brand’s Main Street distillery.

Herradura is bringing back its 110-proof tequila, the strongest it’s ever made
Alcohol, Beverage, Tequila

How high in ABV can a mass-market tequila get? Herradura is looking to find out, with the return of Directo de Alambique, an unaged, still-strength expression bottled at 110 proof at Casa Herradura in Amatitán, Jalisco.

The tequila first appeared in 2012 as a small-batch experiment and developed a cult following among collectors before disappearing. The brand says the 2026 return comes after years of requests from drinkers hunting down old bottles.

An interviewer once famously asked Keith Richards how he had survived decades of rock ‘n’ roll debauchery—heights of hedonism that had sent so many of his cultural contemporaries to an early grave. His answer was surprisingly pragmatic: whatever the vice, he indulged thoughtfully rather than recklessly. And he insisted on only the finest, purest product money could buy. When it came to illicit vices, the King of Riffs exercised discernment as polished as his taste in guitars.

While my indulgences are, on the whole, tamer than Keith’s, I have taken his philosophy to heart when it comes to booze. Especially as hangovers grow more vicious with each passing year, I demand maximum enjoyment from every pour. Every drop of alcohol that touches my should be premium—and consumed thoughtfully.
