Maker’s Mark is releasing its 2026 Wood Finishing Series whiskey

There’s a lot to choose from when it comes to epic bottles in the Maker’s Mark portfolio. But, if you really want to try something unique and memorable, you’ll pick up a bottle of the iconic brand’s 2026 release of its Wood Finishing Series.

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series: Stewards Release

It’s called Stewards Release, and it’s the third installment in the second Wood Finishing Series, which is set to conclude in 2028. The first two releases were The Keepers Release from 2025 and The Heart Release from 2024. This expression will be available in two batches. The first is bottled at 109.6 proof, and the other is bottled at 113.3 proof.

According to the brand, the Stewards Release begins with a nose of cherry pie and vanilla beans. The palate is centered on honey, toasted marshmallows, and candied ginger. The finish is warm, lingers, and ends with notes of stone fruit and salted caramel.

“From the beginning, Maker’s Mark has been guided by my grandparents’ pursuit of exceptional flavor and deep respect for everyone who makes our whisky—from our grain growers to those who barrel and bottle our bourbon,” Rob Samuels, managing director at Maker’s Mark, says.

A new limited-edition tequila is bringing together two of Mexico’s most celebrated cultural traditions in a single bottle. Reserva de la Familia, the luxury tequila brand from Jose Cuervo, has unveiled Private Cask Collection Edition No. 2: Mole Cask, the first tequila finished in mole-seasoned barrels.

The release highlights the deep connection between Mexico’s culinary and distilling heritage. The tequila begins its journey in the agave fields surrounding Tequila, Jalisco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its historic agave landscape and tequila production. It is then finished in barrels seasoned with mole, one of Mexico’s most iconic dishes and part of the country’s UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of traditional cuisine.
