For the second year in a row, the folks at Maker’s Mark are releasing Star Hill Farm Whisky. If you don’t remember it from last year, this is the first new mash bill and first wheat whisky from the renowned Kentucky-based distillery in 70 years.

While the 2025 release featured soft red winter wheat, the 2026 batch is adding hard red and hard white wheat varieties. Overall, the mash bill consists of two mash bills. The first one is malted wheat, and the other is 70% wheat and 30% malted barley.
The result, according to the brand, is a complex, multi-layered expression with aromas of molasses, figs, and baking spices. The palate is centered on notes of shortbread, citrus, and orchard fruits. The finish is long, warm, and ends with notes of caramelized sugar and cinnamon candy. At 116.4-proof, it’s best enjoyed neat or with a splash or two of water to open up the aromas and flavors.

Star Hill Farm Whisky 2026 will be available at select alcohol retailers throughout the US for the suggested retail price of $100 for a 750ml bottle.
