June belongs to all of the great things, from drag bunches and stellar Bloody Mary recipes to global sporting events and some of the longest days of the year. One can feel the sweet sensation of vacation in the air.
Sometimes, you want that same carefree and faraway feeling right at home. That’s where a good late spring cocktail recipe comes into play. We reached out to some friends south of the border for one that raises a glass to Pride Month.
The following cocktail is a hats-off to Pride Month and being shaken up at Hilton All-Inclusive Resort Vallarta Riviera in Mexico. Read on for the full recipe.
Pride in Paradise

Colorful, dynamic, refreshing. That’s enough fetching traits to fall for this drink. It’s also a great opportunity to perfect both your garnish game and your gradient game, as the color fade is a key component here. If you need some spirit inspiration, check out our favorite vodka brands.
Ingredients:
- 1 ounce vodka
- 1 ounce Blue Curaçao
- 1 ounce grenadine
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- Ice
- Mint leaves and orange slice for garnish
Method:
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- Pour grenadine first to create the red base layer.
- Mix pineapple juice with vodka and slowly pour over the ice to form the yellow middle layer.
- Carefully float Blue Curaçao on top to create the blue gradient effect.
- Garnish with fresh mint and an orange slice.
