Copperworks Distilling Company opened its doors on Seattle’s waterfront back in 2013. Since then, it has won numerous awards for its gins, vodkas, and small batch American single malt whiskeys. All of which are made from malted barley. Recently, the popular distillery announced the launch of a limited-release, ultra-rare whiskey.
Copperworks 11 Year Old American Single Malt Whiskey

Taken from a single cask that was filled in January of 2014, it was distilled using a mash of pale malted barley sourced the Great Western Malting. It was matured for more than eleven years in char #3 new American oak barrels from Independent Stave Company.
According to Copperworks, the result is a complex, multi-layered 100-proof whiskey that begins with a nose of Nilla wafers, shortbread, black tea, prickly pear, leather, and damp bark. Sipping it reveals notes of dark chocolate, rosemary, strawberry preserves, red licorice, kiwi, and cedar. The finish is long, warm, and ends with candied fennel, mint, lemongrass, bananas foster, and pipe tobacco. It’s best enjoyed neat on an unseasonably cool night in front of a roaring fire.
“This whiskey is a rare piece of Copperworks history as it was drawn from the second cask we ever filled,” Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker says. “It is a deeply layered, time-tempered American Single Malt Whiskey that captures our origin story in every sip.”
Where can I buy it?
