Watches and Wonders is a must-see every year for lovers of wrist adornments the world over. Some would call it the Super Bowl for the chronophiles. For me, I am a huge fan of watches and, even though I only learned about it a few years ago, Watches and Wonders has been on my bucket list from the moment I heard about the Geneva-based convention. With all the best of the best brands (some well-known and some up-and-coming) in one place, showing off what they accomplished this year and what we can look forward to, there are definitely some things that sparked my interest. Here are my picks for the best moments at 2026’s Watches and Wonders.

Tag Heuer reshapes greatness with the new Monaco Evergraph

With the new explosion of interest in F1, the idea of a stopwatch is all of a sudden in vogue again. There is a new need for timing everything down to the second, and Tag looked at the old-school function of most chronographs’ stopwatches and made it better. Effectively, they replaced the traditional levers of a hard mechanism with rods to make it smoother, softer, and more durable. Take into account the always attractive Tag, and this is the top of my list from the weekend.

What should have been a bomb dropped on the crowd on day one of Watches and Wonders was more of a confirmation of rumors swirling around those in the know for months. The twelve-year run of the GMT-Master II “Pepsi” (Ref. 126710BLRO) model has come to an end. While there was no true confirmation before this week, prices on the second-hand market soared to upwards of $40K, making the rumors all but common knowledge until April 13th’s confirmation.

Patek Philippe Nautilus celebrates half a century

One of the go-to brands that many look towards when they are strolling the halls of Watches and Wonders is Patek Philippe. While most would think of Rolex as the king of the industry, those in the know often look to Patek as the true grail when seeking a great watch that exudes luxury and elegance. They are the masters of creating urgency, and the new 50th-anniversary Nautilus has five models, each with only 1,000 units produced. One of those stood above everything else in my mind, the desk clock. If anyone has a contact at Patek, I would love to buy a desk simply to put that guy on for my few hours of work when I can peel my eyes away from it.

Audemars Piguet launches pre-owned program to rival the titan of the second-hand watch market

Rolex has dominated the watch world for nearly a century. The industry is a deep and complicated web of luxury houses and independent hopefuls. While brands like Patek Phillipe and Cartier vie for their place on the podium, Rolex holds a death grip on the chronophile’s aspirational collection checklist. But Audemars Piguet has decided to challenge them somewhere most other brands are deciding to ignore: the pre-owned market. Now, while something like the Royal Oak is an icon among enthusiasts, AP launching their own certified pre-owned marketplace to chase the reported $1 billion Rolex pie will certainly upset the market.
