Parmigiani Fleurier adds a 36mm steel and rose gold watch to the Tonda PF Automatic line and pairs it with a deep ruby dial. The tone sits between plum and cherry and darkens or lightens as the angle of light changes. CEO Guido Terreni calls burgundy the new black in current luxury. Twelve baguette cut diamonds mark the hours, with total weight of approximately 0.36 carats and grades running D-G for color and IF-VVS for clarity.
The dial carries the hand guilloché Grain d’Orge pattern. A craftsman cuts the fine barley grain lines into the brass. The grooves catch light and give the surface depth. The engraving warms the ruby color while adding a ridged texture visible when the watch is held close. Rose gold delta hands turn above the dial, machined from 18ct alloy that matches the bezel, the crown and the central links of the bracelet.
The case and bracelet treat rose gold as structural material, not trim. The links taper toward the folding clasp, with outer rows in steel and inner rows in rose gold. Each gold link is slightly taller than its steel neighbors, so the top surface rises and falls across the 20mm width. A knurled bezel frames the 36mm case, with one half of each ridge polished and the other brushed. The case measures 8.6mm from top to back.
The calibre PF770 automatic movement powers the watch. It runs at 28,800 vph, carries 29 jewels, stores 60 hours and contains 179 parts. Bridges receive straight Côtes de Genève stripes. The 22ct rose gold rotor is openworked, polished and sandblasted. A sapphire window in the back exposes the gear train and the balance.
The Tonda PF line won the 2022 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in the luxury sports watch class. The ruby dial version keeps the original case and movement and changes only the color. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters. A screw down crown and gaskets seal the case even though the bracelet is integrated and lacks strap lugs.
