Luminox built its name on lightweight, strap-bound tool watches. Now, it’s trying a slightly different tack.
The Swiss-made, American-founded brand just added a fully blacked-out, all-steel model — the XS.3228.NSF — to its Navy SEAL Foundation 3220 Series, a collaboration that dates back to 2020.
The big change here is the finish. The 43mm case, solid rotating bezel, and matching bracelet are all set up in IP Gun stainless steel — a dark gunmetal coating meant to cut reflection, in keeping with the “silent professional” vibes the SEALs have going on.
Under the blackout dial are Luminox’s signature Light Technology tubes, glowing in ice blue and gold for up to 25 years without a charge or an external light source.
The rest is a good-old-fashioned Luminox dive watch: 200 meters of water resistance, a screw-down crown, an engraved case back, and a Swiss quartz RONDA 515 movement. The case runs 12mm thick and weighs 166 grams (or 5.8 oz).
The watch is another addition to Luminox’s Navy SEAL Foundation collection, which supports the Foundation’s mission of providing assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.
Blackout bracelet bonanza

Blacked-out Luminox models aren’t new — the brand runs stealth variants across nearly every series it makes. What’s actually different here is the bracelet.
Luminox’s reputation, and most of its catalog, is built on rubber, nylon, and Velcro straps. Putting the Foundation watch on a matching IP Gun steel bracelet nudges it toward something you’d wear to dinner, not just into the field — and nudges the price up with it.
At $925, this isn’t impulse-buy territory (for me, at least); I’m putting this in the same price conversation as some entry-level Swiss steel-bracelet divers. If you’ve got a fondness for an American-origin brand, this could be your next move, and the Foundation tie-in offers a human-interest aspect the spec sheet alone might not. (You can read more about that partnership here.)
Where to buy It
The Navy SEAL Foundation XS.3228.NSF is available now direct from Luminox at $925, bracelet included. It’s a standard-catalog release rather than a limited edition, so there’s no clock ticking — but buying direct is the cleanest way to be sure your money runs through the official collection.
