As Clarks’ anniversary celebrations continue, the brand’s collaborations are getting bigger. Fresh off its recent partnership with SNS, the shoemaker is unveiling a new look with the Desert230. This time, Clarks is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Desert Boot series, so it’s time to give it a revamped design. Joining the challenge is Japanese brand BEAMS, known for its high-quality collaborations with some of the most significant footwear brands. Just as in their previous collaborations, BEAMS has added its refined, minimalist touch, subtle yet substantial. Although the collaboration celebrates the anniversary of their Desert boots, this model is highly influenced by the brand’s renowned chukka boots. Developing a brand new silhouette for the occasion, the Desert230 offers a mix of distinctive features you may recognize from Clarks’ other iconic boots. Together, Clarks Originals and BEAMS have revamped the essential boot model in their own sleek, elevated way.
Clarks Originals and BEAMS reinvent the Desert boot

For this special edition design, Clarks and BEAMS have rebuilt this timeless boot silhouette from scratch. Crafted with a tan suede upper made of weatherproof and breathable GORE-TEX, the Desert230 seemingly borrows its design from the classic work boot. Offering a traditional, simple look, the boot also features a four-eyelet design. As with any rugged boot, the design needs to work on almost any surface. To ensure your stability, the Desert230 boot features a new outsole with a rugged tread you would typically find on work boots. While the boot arrives with tonal tan laces that complete the monochromatic look, the collaborative design also includes a pair of “tiger laces” in a vibrant red-and-yellow mix. While most rugged boots provide a sturdy, rigid entry point to keep your foot secure, the Desert230 features an elastic band in the lining, allowing you to slip your foot in or out without tying and untying your laces. Available via BEAMS’ webstore for ¥34,100 (about $225).
