Intentional strokes of genius and artistry rarely go unnoticed in the realm of luxury watchmaking, and, A. Lange & Söhne doesn’t disappoint with the recent release of breathtaking new Saxonia Thin timepieces. Addressing a noticeable void in their collection for a larger, purist dress watch, the German manufacturer has unveiled two exclusive limited editions: one cased in their signature warm 750 Honeygold and the other in cool, lustrous 950 platinum.

A stunning display of opulence and mechanical vision

Each timepiece presents a stunning vision, featuring a 40mm case that is an impossibly slim 6.2mm thick, offering a bold yet ergonomically sublime presence on the wrist. The true pièce de résistance? A dial created from solid 925 silver and capped with an obsidian-black onyx stone. The end result is a mirror-like surface of exceptional depth and elegance — elements that are cornerstones of artistic mastery discerning collectors will appreciate.

The Saxonia Thin’s movement boasts impressive micromechanical refinement

At the heart of this timepiece lies the manually wound Calibre L093.1 – 28mm in diameter that appears modest through the sapphire case back, but its technical prowess says otherwise. At just 2.9mm in height, this movement is an absolute marvel, boasting a remarkable 72-hour power reserve, further proof of Lange’s standing in the industry for engineering ingenuity. The view from the back presents traditional German decoration, featuring three screwed gold chatons, 21 jewels, and a shock-resistant screw balance coupled with a freely-sprung balance spring produced entirely in-house. This mechanical masterpiece delivers its performance with quiet, unassuming confidence that watch collectors will immediately take note of.

A. Lange & Söhne asserts its command of minimalist opulence

With these new Saxonia Thin models, A. Lange & Söhne has laid credence to the notion that minimalism can produce impressive effects. With Honeygold as the choice, a material so challenging due to its production limitations, highlights the watch’s exclusive nature. This release is a powerful statement for the connoisseur who finds luxury in perfect proportions and the quiet brilliance of impeccable execution. In short, it stands as a definitive answer on the elements necessary to create a perfect, contemporary dress watch.

Todd Snyder and Timex just gave the Marlin a mesh bracelet
Watch, Hand, Shaker

Timex and Todd Snyder just released the Marlin Mesh, the latest entry in one of menswear’s longest-running watch collaborations.

The Marlin itself is a genuine vintage design, pulled from Timex’s 1960s archive. Snyder and Timex first revived it back in 2016 as a Todd Snyder exclusive, and it was something bigger than just a new watch — it was Timex’s first step back into mechanical movements after years of quartz-only releases.
