Maserati brought its motorsport heritage back to American soil as the Trident brand made a high-profile appearance at GT America powered by AWS at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The event marked the U.S. debut of the Maserati GT2 race car, following its triumphant season in the Fanatec GT2 European Series. Its debut wasn’t just a display of Italian performance—it was a tribute to the brand’s deep racing roots at Indy.

The GT2 appeared in a special livery inspired by the legendary Maserati 8CTF, which won the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940. That connection to the Brickyard made this unveiling feel less like a launch and more like a homecoming for Maserati Corse.

Maserati GT2 and the Trident lineup take center stage

Displayed in the paddock, the GT2 drew crowds for its blend of carbon fiber engineering and competition-ready design. Now type-certified and awaiting U.S. homologation, the car is eligible for 20 race series worldwide, including GT America. The series itself emphasizes sprint-format racing with GT3, GT2, and GT4 cars, giving fans close-up action and keeping the spotlight on driver skill.

Maserati also used the weekend to showcase its performance lineup in the Fan Zone. Highlights included the track-exclusive MCXtrema—powered by a 730-hp Nettuno V6—and the near-street-legal GT2 Stradale, a blend of GT2 engineering and MC20 refinement. Together, they represented the brand’s full range of performance, from pure race cars to barely-tamed road machines.

Fans and owners join the celebration

Beyond the racing spectacle, Maserati hosted a vibrant Car Corral that united owners and enthusiasts for the season finale. Parade laps led by the 2026 GranTurismo Trofeo Coupe showed off Maserati’s grand touring lineage, while MCXtrema hot laps gave a handful of guests a firsthand taste of the brand’s most extreme machine. For Maserati, the weekend wasn’t just about speed—it was a celebration of a legacy reborn at the Brickyard.
