Founded in Fort Worth, Texas, TX Whiskey is well-known for its TX Straight Bourbon and TX Blended Whiskey, as well as for using Texas-grown grains and other ingredients. Recently, the popular brand announced the launch of a unique, new whiskey: TX Whiskey Triple Cask.
TX Whiskey Triple Cask

The newest release (and the 17th overall) from the brand’s TX Experimental Series, TX Whiskey Triple Cask is a limited-edition expression aged in a combination of American oak, French Oak, and Rum barrels. The result is a multi-layered, nuanced whiskey that deserves to be sipped neat or on the rocks.
I have a handful of bottles of TX Whiskey in my collection, and I’m interested in trying this new, unique expression. The combination of three distinct casks is sure to add some complexity to an already high-quality whiskey. I always enjoy it when distilleries experiment with blending whiskeys aged or finished in different barrels, creating a unique aromatic and flavorful experience. What’s not to love?
According to TX Whiskey, it all begins with a nose of toasted oak, ripe plums, orchard fruit, vanilla beans, spiced rum, and banana candy. The palate is centered on notes of caramelized sugar, oak, and dried fruit. The finish is long, lingering, warm, and leaves you hoping there’s more left in the bottle. A noteworthy expression like this is most enjoyed neat or on the rocks on an unseasonably cool evening.
“Triple Cask was created to highlight how each barrel can shape the whiskey in a different way,” Craig Blair, Master Distiller and Blender for TX Whiskey, says.
“From the structure of American Oak to the softer notes of French Oak and the richness of Rum Casks, this expression brings together three distinct influences in one bold, layered sip.”
Where can I buy it?

This is a limited-edition release. Only 1,200 bottles will be made available to the public beginning June 13th. It will be available exclusively at Whiskey Ranch for the suggested retail price of $39.99 for a 750ml bottle. If you want to get your hands on a bottle of this soon-to-be highly sought-after whiskey, you’d better act fast.
