Fans of Remus Bourbon will be excited about the release of Remus Lou Gehrig Reserve Bourbon, created to honor Major League Baseball’s “Iron Horse”.
Remus Bourbon Lou Gehrig Reserve

This isn’t the first baseball-themed bourbon from the brand. In 2024 and 2025, it released Remus Babe Ruth Reserve Bourbon. This new expression, crafted by Master Distiller Ian Stirsman, is made with four distinct mash bills to pay tribute to Gehrig’s number 4, and its 109-proof is a reference to the 100th anniversary of his 109 RBI season in 1926.
This release begins with 14% 2016 bourbon with a 44% rye mash bill, 70% 2017 bourbon with a 49% rye mash bill, 8% 2019 bourbon with a 99% corn mash bill, and 8% 2019 bourbon with a 36% rye mash bill. According to the brand, the result is a multi-layered bourbon that opens with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, leather, and cloves. The palate is centered on flavors like brown sugar, plum, toasted marshmallows, baking spices, toasted cedar, and cinnamon.
“In the 1920s, only one man was worthy of following Babe Ruth in the lineup, and that was the great Lou Gehrig. In 2026, the same holds true,” Stirsman says.
“Every detail was thoughtfully created to celebrate his legacy in a meaningful way, while maintaining the craftsmanship of Remus Bourbon that drinkers love and expect from our distillery.”
Where can I buy it?
